Can you please check with your web hosting provider and ask them if cURL is enabled on your server? If it isn’t, please ask them to enable it.
Alternatively, please share your access.log and error.log files with us. That would help us determine the issue in more detail.

My website resides on shared hosting (altervista.org), so I can’t provide error log files.
I have checked and cURL is active.
By the way… Altervista staff answered this way:
“RankMath site expects to receive a request with a certain User Agent, which is not the one sent by calls made by AlterVista.
For now it is unfortunately not possible to use this plugin on AlterVista. ”
