Split: pagination advice

Hmmm…the solution proposed earlier in this thread is no longer valid as there is not a choice to “noindex paginated pages” any longer in the “Misc Pages” window, at least in RankMath Pro as of 1/1/2002 (happy new year!)

What is the simplest way to get the canonical to always be set to:

    website.com/blog

    ..even on URLs like:

    website.com/blog/2
    website.com/blog/3

    …etc?

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting us and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

That option is still available but you need to make sure that you enable the Advanced Mode of Rank Math: https://rankmath.com/kb/advanced-mode/

Hope this helps clarify your doubts.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.

Oh wow, yes, that did the trick!

Weird thing is though, when I enabled advanced mode, those switches were all already flipped “on”, including to noindex paginated pages.

Question now is: is this set “off” (please do index paginated pages) in “non-advanced mode”?

I think your nomenclature could be improved by eliminating “not nots”. For example, have the switch be “Index Paginated Pages” and have it set “off” by default, instead of “Don’t Index Paginated Pages” and have it set “on”.

If you follow my line of thinking… 🙂

    Hello,

If the Noindex Paginated Pages option is enabled then the paginated pages will be set as noindex. If you want to index the paginated pages then you will have to disable the option.

Thanks for your valuable suggestion. I will forward this to our devs for further discussion.

Please don’t hesitate to get in touch in case you need any other assistance.

    Thanks.
