Some Links Redirecting to Homepage Instead of Desired Pages After Enabling Rank

#1114043
  • Hi Rank Math Team,

I’m facing an issue on my website BrandBrahma.com
where several internal links — including H1 titles and footer content links — are getting redirected to the homepage instead of their actual destination pages.

    Here’s what I’ve observed:

When I disable the Rank Math SEO plugin, everything works perfectly — all links open their intended pages.

But once Rank Math is reactivated, those same URLs automatically redirect to the homepage.

I’ve already verified permalink settings and selected “Homepage instead of 404 page” in Rank Math’s redirection settings, but the issue persists.

Could you please help me identify what might be causing this and how I can resolve it?
Any guidance or recommended settings would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you for your support,
    Suresh Rathod

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with the redirects on your website. It sounds like there may be some misconfigurations in the redirection settings or possibly other factors at play.

Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

    1. Check for Existing Redirects: Ensure that there are no existing redirects set up in Rank Math that might be causing these links to redirect to the homepage. You can do this by navigating to Rank Math Dashboard → Redirections and reviewing any active redirects.

    2. Review .htaccess File: Sometimes, redirects can be set in the .htaccess file. You can check this by going to WordPress Dashboard → Rank Math SEO → General Settings → Edit .htaccess. Look for any rules that might be causing the redirection and remove them if necessary. Here’s how it looks:
      edit .htaccess

    3. Debug Redirection Feature: Use Rank Math’s debug feature to identify any issues with the redirection. This can help pinpoint what might be causing the unwanted redirects. You can find this feature in the same Redirection settings area.

    4. Check for Broad Redirects: If you have created broad redirects, they might be affecting multiple URLs. Review your redirection settings to ensure that they are not too broad, which could inadvertently redirect other links to the homepage.
      More than one redirection

    5. Disable Other Plugins: Sometimes, conflicts with other plugins can cause unexpected behavior. Try temporarily disabling other plugins to see if the issue persists with only Rank Math activated.

If after trying these steps the issue still exists, please reply to this ticket with any additional details or errors you may have encountered, and a human agent from our support team will assist you further.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and we hope to resolve it quickly for you!
