Some issues

    Hello,

It seems I am indeed experiencing some issues.
First, I deactivated Yoast, activated Rank Math, and migrated the data from Yoast.
Should I now delete the Yoast plugin to ensure all its data is removed from the database?

Previously, I had installed the Instant Indexing plugin.
Should I uninstall it now, as it is redundant, isn’t it?

I encountered a problem when I tried to submit my Rank Math sitemap file to Google Search Console:
    https://guideyourtrip.com/page-sitemap.xml
I have 10 sub-sitemaps showing errors, either “Unable to read sitemap” or “Generic HTTP error.”
How can I fix these errors?

I noticed the default number of links per sitemap is set to 200.
    Can this number be increased?
If so, how can I regenerate the Rank Math sitemap?
Will I need to delete the existing one from GSC and submit the new one?

Thank you for your help and responses.

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting us and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

First, I deactivated Yoast, activated Rank Math, and migrated the data from Yoast.
Should I now delete the Yoast plugin to ensure all its data is removed from the database?

If you’ve properly migrated the data from Yoast to Rank Math, you can now delete the data from Yoast: https://rankmath.com/kb/remove-yoast/

Previously, I had installed the Instant Indexing plugin.
Should I uninstall it now, as it is redundant, isn’t it?

Please note that the Instant Indexing feature in the Rank Math plugin is only for Bing and Yandex.

If you want to use the Instant Indexing API for Google, you’ll have to use that external plugin.

Note: Google recommends using the Indexing API only for JobPosting or BroadcastEvent embedded in VideoObject websites. If your website falls under these categories, then you can use this API.

“Unable to read sitemap” or “Generic HTTP error.”
How can I fix these errors?

We checked your sitemap and we can see it is working properly without any issues.

In this case, please try to follow the steps below and see if that works for you:

    1. Flush the Sitemap cache by following this video screencast:
    https://i.rankmath.com/pipRDp

    2. Exclude the Sitemap files of the Rank Math plugin in your caching plugin. The cache could be via a plugin or from the server. For plugins or Cloudflare, please follow this article:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/

Once done, clear your website cache, remove all the submitted sitemap, and resubmit only the /sitemap_index.xml in the Search Console.

I noticed the default number of links per sitemap is set to 200.
    Can this number be increased?

Please note that Google crawls small-sized sitemaps faster. With this in mind, Rank math uses the links per sitemap limit to break down sitemaps into smaller parts. You can also check Google’s guidelines for sitemaps: https://developers.google.com/search/docs/advanced/sitemaps/build-sitemap

However, if you want, you can increase this limit in Rank Math > Sitemap Settings > General and it will automatically update your sitemap.

Hope that helps and please don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any other questions.

    Hello,

Is this the feature that indexes with Google as explained in this tutorial?

Yes, that’s the Instant Indexing API for Google.

I have done all the operations concerning the sitemap.
However my sitemap still has subsitemaps in error.

Some of the sitemaps from your screenshot are no longer available because you’ve increased the links per sitemap.

Please remove all your sitemaps from your Google Search Console account and submit only the primary one (https://guideyourtrip.com/sitemap_index.xml).

If the issue persists, click on the individual sitemap with the error on your GSC and share a screenshot of the details of the error with us.

Let us know how that goes.

    Hello,

    Sorry for the long delay.

We checked your sitemap and we can confirm the guides sitemap only goes up 7. See screenshot below:

    Rank Math support

We can also confirm it is loading without any issues from our end:

We can also see from your screenshot that some of the sitemaps were crawled by Google over a month ago.

In this case assuming you’ve followed this guide already, you only need Google to let your sitemap crawl and the report should be updated in the GSC.

    Hope that helps.

    Thanks for your answers.
This doesn’t explain, it seems to me that sitemaps are still in error on GoogleSearchConsole
    https://guideyourtrip.com/error-31-12.jpg
Do you think of an explanation?

    Hello,

You may need to give Google some time to recrawl those sub-sitemaps like the other ones.

The “Last read” date column will be updated like the ones that are already working below them.

    Looking forward to helping you.
