Hey guys, hope all is well.

I am receiving a lot of emails from Google about a particular site.

Some fixes failed for Coverage issues on site gentlewench.com
Coverage > Submitted URL seems to be a Soft 404 > Validation details

Here are some examples of the URLs that are showing as soft 404:
1. https://www.gentlewench.com/mens/clothing-mens/tops-clothing-mens/
2. https://www.gentlewench.com/sale/sale-womens/accessories-womens-sale/scarves-accessories-womens-sale/
3. https://www.gentlewench.com/brands/peet-dullaert/

I’ve made sure to select the “Include Empty Terms” within the Sitemap settings.

Are you able to help and fix the above, or at least explain why the alerts from Google keep happening? Am I missing a certain setting?

Hello,

Thanks for contacting us and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

It is not recommended to include empty terms in your sitemap. Since the pages are empty, Google is treating them as soft 404s. You should also mark them as noindex from WP Dashboard > Rank Math > Titles & Meta > Global Meta > Noindex Empty Category and Tag Archives.

Once done, clear the cache and wait for Google to crawl your sitemap again.
