  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with your sitemaps not being indexed due to the x-robots-tag being set to Noindex. This can prevent search engines from crawling and indexing your sitemaps, which is crucial for your site’s visibility.

To resolve this issue, you will need to ensure that your sitemap is not marked as Noindex. Here are some steps you can follow:

    1. Check Your Sitemap Settings in Rank Math:

      • Go to Rank Math SEO → Sitemap Settings in your WordPress dashboard.
      • Ensure that the settings for your sitemaps do not include any options that would set them to Noindex.

    2. Review Your Robots.txt File:

      • Check your robots.txt file to ensure there are no rules blocking access to your sitemaps. You can edit this under Rank Math SEO → General Settings → robots.txt.
    3. Check for Plugin Conflicts:

      • Sometimes, other plugins may interfere with the settings. You can use the Health Check plugin to identify any conflicts.
    4. Clear Caches:

      • If you are using caching plugins, make sure to clear the cache after making changes to ensure that the latest settings are applied.
    5. Resubmit Your Sitemap:

      • After making these changes, resubmit your sitemap in Google Search Console to prompt Google to re-crawl it. You can follow the instructions in this tutorial.

    Hello,

Please ignore the reply from our bot.

By default, sitemaps are set to noindex as the posts inside them are meant to be crawled and shown on the search results pages, and not the actual sitemaps.

Sitemaps should only be submitted to your Google Search Console as we have mentioned in our guide here:

    Looking forward to helping you.
