Hello,
We apologize for the issue you are facing with the sitemaps for your custom posts. Since you mentioned that the sitemaps for the new custom post types (Industries and Checklists) are not working despite being enabled, there are a few things you can check:
-
Check Visibility Settings: Ensure that the visibility settings for these custom post types are set to public and not set to private or draft.
-
Flush Permalinks: Sometimes, flushing the permalinks can help resolve issues with custom post types. You can do this by going to Settings → Permalinks in your WordPress dashboard and simply clicking the Save Changes button without making any changes.
-
Plugin Conflicts: There might be a conflict with another plugin. You can use the Health Check plugin to troubleshoot this.
-
Custom Canonicals: If you have set custom canonical URLs for these posts, they may not appear in the sitemap. Ensure that you are using Rank Math’s default canonical settings.
If you’ve checked all of these and the issue persists, please reply to this ticket, and a human agent from the Rank Math Support team will assist you further.
Thank you for raising this concern!
Hello,
I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?
Thank you.
Hello,
Please check and confirm that the Industries and Checklists pages are not set to noindex
and do not have custom canonical URLs (manually entered canonical URLs).
The two conditions for Rank Math to include a page in the sitemap after its post type has been selected are that it is set to index and the canonical URL is self-referencing (this is the default setting from Rank Math).
Let us know how it goes. Looking forward to helping you.
Thank you.
Hi Ike,
I have checked for noindex and manual canonical; everything is set with the default settings, which means pages are set to index, and the canonicals are automatic. Please have a look at the screenshot.
Thanks.
Hello,
In this case, we might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.
Please do take a complete backup of your website before sharing the information with us.
It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/
You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):
https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-security-audit-log/
We really look forward to helping you.
Hello,
I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?
Thank you.
Hello,
This was a case of the sitemaps being cached so we would recommend that you perform the actions mentioned in this tutorial: https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/
We recommend the transient cache method to make sure this doesn’t happen in the future.
Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.
