  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting the support, and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

I checked your sitemaps and they seem to be loading just fine except for the post tag sitemap.

Could you please share a sample post tag URL here so we can further check why this particular sitemap is returning a 404?

Looking forward to helping you on this one.

    Thanks for the quick reply.

Here is the tag URL: https://www.operatorcoffeeco.com/tag/starbucks/
Other sitemaps are loading now due to I clicking ‘save changes’ in permalinks of settings according to one of your troubleshoot guides.

I found another issue. When I resubmited sitemaps in GSC, the status is success but actually many URLs in sitemaps were not discovered. https://ibb.co/DMtRjr7

Besides, I tested sitemaps’ URLs in GSC inspection tool and found that they can’t be indexed. https://ibb.co/nCCm0GS https://ibb.co/7GsT49S

    Hello,

I have checked your sitemap – https://www.operatorcoffeeco.com/sitemap_index.xml, and it is working fine.

The Post Tag sitemap is no longer present in the main sitemap, so I presume that you might have disabled it?

Regarding Google Search Console, please note that you only need to submit the main sitemap (/sitemap_index.xml) to the Google Search Console.

So, I suggest that you remove all the sitemaps from Search Console and resubmit only the primary sitemap – /sitemap_index.xml.

Once you have done that, please allow Google some time to recrawl your website. Google will use that to get your other sitemaps.

    I hope this helps.

Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.

Hi, the post tag was set to be included: https://ibb.co/hYLx1Zf but it seems been enabled a couple days ago. Will this process take some time? If yes, how long will it need?

In addition, how many links do you suggest be limited per sitemap? should I remove the default 200? In the next several months, the total posts in my site would definitely exceed 200. https://ibb.co/rb0RqsX

I have removed all sitemaps and only resubmit the main one. How long it might take google recrawl? https://ibb.co/m81dnsL

should sitemap be indexed? It now has ‘noindex’ tag according to URL inspection tool.

    Hello,

Your tags are set as noindex and that’s why they are not being included in the sitemap. Please navigate to WP Dashboard > Rank Math > Titles & Meta > Tags and enable the Tag Archives Robots Meta option and set it as Index.

Once done, the tag sitemap will be included in your main sitemap.

And the sitemaps are supposed to be set as noindex as they shouldn’t be indexed in the SERPs.

Hope this helps. Let us know if you need any other assistance.

Hi, thanks for the reply. I still have questions unsolved.

How many links do you suggest be limited per sitemap? should I remove the default 200? In the next several months, the total posts in my site would definitely exceed 200. https://ibb.co/rb0RqsX

I have removed all sitemaps and only resubmited the main one on Feb 23. It has been read by google on Feb 24 but still only 58 links found which are less than actual quatity. Plz check this screenshot: https://ibb.co/xF6ZwRw
Is there anything wrong or will other URLs be discovered later with nothing to do on my side?

    Hello,

How many links do you suggest be limited per sitemap? should I remove the default 200? In the next several months, the total posts in my site would definitely exceed 200. https://ibb.co/rb0RqsX

You can retain the default 200 since you don’t have so many posts on your website currently. When the number of your posts exceeds the current Links Per Sitemap, it will create a second sitemap for your newer posts.

    For example:

    https://yourdomain.com/post_sitemap1.xml
    https://yourdomain.com/post_sitemap2.xml

I have removed all sitemaps and only resubmited the main one on Feb 23. It has been read by google on Feb 24 but still only 58 links found which are less than actual quatity. Plz check this screenshot: https://ibb.co/xF6ZwRw
Is there anything wrong or will other URLs be discovered later with nothing to do on my side?

Can you please follow these steps?

    1. Exclude the Sitemap files of the Rank Math plugin in your caching plugin. The cache could be via a plugin or from the server. For plugins or Cloudflare, please follow this article:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/

    2. After that, remove all your sitemaps from your GSC and resubmit only the primary sitemap (sitemap_index.xml).

Let us know how that goes. Looking forward to helping you.

Hello, I have set the tags as index according to your suggestion below:
‘navigate to WP Dashboard > Rank Math > Titles & Meta > Tags and enable the Tag Archives Robots Meta option and set it as Index.’

I can see the tag Sitemap is listed in the main Sitemap but the tag Sitemap page itself (https://www.operatorcoffeeco.com/post_tag-sitemap.xml) does not exist. Why and how to fix that?

    Hello,

Have you added some tags to your posts?

It seems that you haven’t added any tags to your post, thus, there are no tags on your site that we could use to create a tag sitemap.

Please add some tags to the posts on your website and then the tag sitemap will be created automatically.

    Hope this helps.

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you.

Hello, I did add a tag “Starbucks” to 23 post many days ago.

If the issue persists then we might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.

Please do take a complete backup of your website before sharing the information with us.
    Sensitive Data Section

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

We really look forward to helping you.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    Hello,

I tried to log in to your site to investigate this further, however, it seems that the access you have provided doesn’t allow us to check the plugin settings.

Please make sure to provide us with the admin credentials as that is required for troubleshooting.

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you.

Hi, I’ve updated. Plz check it now. Tks.
