  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with your sitemap showing 0 discovered URLs in Google Search Console (GSC). Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve this issue:

    1. Validate Your Sitemap

Make sure your sitemap is correctly configured. You can use the Validate XML Sitemap tool to check for any issues. If your sitemap is valid, it should return a success message.

    2. Ensure Your Posts Are Set to Index

If all your posts are set to noindex, your sitemap will appear empty. To check this, go to Rank Math SEO → Titles & Meta and ensure that the Index checkbox is enabled for your posts.

    Index Titles and Meta settings

    3. Check Sitemap Location

Ensure that your sitemap is located in the root folder of your WordPress installation. The correct URL should look like this:

    4. Wait for Google to Fetch Your Sitemap

Sometimes, it may take time for Google to discover and fetch the URLs from your sitemap. If you have recently submitted it, please allow some time for Google to process it.

    5. Check for Plugin Conflicts

If you suspect there might be a plugin conflict, consider using the Health Check plugin to identify any issues.

If you have followed these steps and are still experiencing issues, please reply to this ticket, and a human agent from the Rank Math Support team will assist you further. Thank you for raising this concern!

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math support and we apologise for any inconvenience caused.

When the count of the Discovered URLs is zero or shows empty in your Google Search Console, it means Google didn’t use the sitemap to find the URLs.

It mostly happens when you have good internal linking or use the Instant Indexing plugin.

In this case, you either have to wait for the search engines to completely crawl the sitemaps or let it be since sitemaps are just a backup crawling mechanism for search engines. Usually, the URLs are discovered via other means such as internal links or backlinks.

    Hello,

Please note that the sitemaps are only used for URL discovery. Google has already discovered and crawled the URL. However, Crawled – Currently not Indexed status means that Google has crawled the URL but hasn’t indexed the URL due to reasons only known to them. You can check the following guide to learn more: https://rankmath.com/kb/crawled-currently-not-indexed/

With that said, we can check that the homepage is already indexed in the SERPs:

You should wait for Google to crawl the rest of the URLs and index them.

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.
