  • Hello,

    We apologize for the issue you are facing with the sitemap showing the old slug. It seems like you’ve already taken several steps to resolve this, which is great. Here are a few additional suggestions that might help:

    1. Check for Custom Canonicals: If you have set a custom canonical URL for the post type, it may not appear in the sitemap. Ensure that there are no custom canonicals set for your new slug.

    2. Verify Robots.txt: Make sure that your robots.txt file is not blocking the new slug or the sitemap. You can check this in Rank Math SEO → General Settings → robots.txt.

    3. Disable Transient Caching: If you haven’t already, try adding the following filter to your theme’s rank-math.php file to disable transient caching of your sitemap:

      add_filter( 'rank_math/sitemap/enable_caching', '__return_false');
    4. Recheck Sitemap Settings: Go to Rank Math SEO → Sitemap Settings and ensure that the new custom post type is included in the sitemap settings.

    5. Submit the Correct Sitemap to Google: Make sure you are submitting the correct sitemap URL to Google Search Console, which should be something like `https://rankmath.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Flush-Permalinks-Settings.jpg.

    If these steps do not resolve the issue, please reply to this ticket, and a human agent from the Rank Math Support team will take over and assist you further. Thank you for your patience!

    Hello,

    I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    Hello,

    Please try to follow the steps below and see if that works for you:

    1. Flush the Sitemap cache by following this video screencast:
    https://i.rankmath.com/pipRDp

    2. Exclude the Sitemap files of the Rank Math plugin in your caching plugin. The cache could be via a plugin or from the server. For plugins or Cloudflare, please follow this article:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/

    3. Apply the following filter to your site to disable the transients cache for sitemap.

    add_filter( 'rank_math/sitemap/enable_caching', '__return_false');

    Here’s how you can add filter/hook to your WordPress site:

    If the issue persists, then we might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.

    Please do take a complete backup of your website before sharing the information with us.
