Sitemap not working

    Rank Math free

I switched from Yoast to Rank Math a while ago but I don’t understand why in the Sitemap there are so many pages (from event-sitemap4.xml to event-sitemap48.xml) that give me a 404 error.

I have already followed your guides https://rankmath.com/kb/fix-sitemap-issues/

in an attempt to solve the problem but I just couldn’t.

I also used the site health plugin leaving only Rank Math and the Events Manager plugin enabled and the problem remains. At this point I don’t know if it’s a matter of incompatibility with this plugin.
I previously wrote in your wordpress support which you can read here:
    https://wordpress.org/support/topic/sitemap-not-working-27/

I created an administrator account especially for you

    Could you please help me?

  • Hello,

I apologize for the inconvenience you are facing with your sitemap after switching from Yoast to Rank Math. It seems like you are encountering a 404 error with multiple pages in your sitemap, specifically from event-sitemap4.xml to event-sitemap48.xml.

To address this issue, let’s try the following steps:

    1. Flush Permalinks: Sometimes, when switching SEO plugins, flushing permalinks can resolve sitemap issues. You can do this by navigating to Settings → Permalinks in your WordPress admin area and clicking the "Save Changes" button.

    2. Exclude Sitemap Caching: Ensure that your sitemap files are excluded from caching. Caching the sitemap can lead to 404 errors. You can follow the instructions provided in our guide on excluding sitemaps from caching.

    3. Check Robots Meta Tag: Make sure that the pages you want to include in the sitemap are set to index in the robots meta tag. Pages set to noindex will not appear in the sitemap and can result in a 404 error. You can check and update this setting in the Rank Math SEO → Advanced tab of the post editing screen.

If the issue persists after trying these steps, you can add a filter to disable sitemap caching by adding code to your theme’s rank-math.php file as outlined in our guide on WordPress hooks, actions, and filters.

If you continue to experience difficulties, please reply to this ticket, and a human agent from our support team will assist you further.

Thank you for reaching out to us with your concern. We are here to help you resolve this issue and ensure your sitemap functions correctly.

    Kind regards.

I tried what is described above and on https://rankmath.com/kb/fix-sitemap-issues/ but nothing works.
I’m sorry and I hope you can please help me.

    Hello,

We would like to investigate this issue further.

Kindly include your site’s FTP access details in the sensitive data section.

We look forward to helping you.

    Thanks.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    Hello,

You currently have 47,000 events and if you divide that by the number of links per sitemap (201), you will get 230+ sitemaps which matches the current number of event sitemaps in your primary sitemap.

Please refer to this guide to help you determine why some of the published events aren’t included in the sitemap causing a 404 page to some: https://rankmath.com/kb/url-not-in-sitemap/

If that doesn’t help, please share some example event URLs that is currently published but not included in the sitemap. We will check this further.

    Looking forward to helping you.

Good morning, sorry for the inconvenience.
Have you by any chance looked into the problem?

    Hello,

We apologize for the late response. For some reason, your last response was stuck in the draft section.

We attempted to reach your site to investigate this issue further but your site returned a 503 server downtime error:

Hi, I disabled the site a little while ago because it took away too many resources from my main site. Please let me know when you can watch so I can rehabilitate it

I just reactivated the site. If you want to watch it. Thank you

    Hello,

Unfortunately, the 503 error is still present.

Can you please reactivate the site for at least 3 days so our support team can check the issue closely?

Looking forward to helping you with this one.

Good morning, I apologize for the deactivation but I couldn’t do otherwise.
I have just reactivated the site and will keep it turned on until your next response.
    Thank you very much

    Hello,

When we investigated this we saw a discrepancy with the actual number of total events on your site.

We believe this discrepancy is coming from your Events Manager plugin which is causing Rank Math to generate the wrong amount of events sub-sitemap, hence the 404 error on some of your events sub-sitemap. By the way, this discrepancy is happening even with Rank Math deactivated.

Please reach out to the Events Manager plugin developer for help with this discrepancy. Keep us in the loop so we can continue investigating this issue.

Thank you for choosing Rank Math

Hi, yesterday I wrote to Events Manager Premium Support and reported the problem by linking the address of this post and telling them about your willingness to collaborate to solve the problem.
    Thank you.

    Hello,

Awesome. Let us know when you hear back from them.

Thank you for choosing Rank Math
