Hello,
Thank you for contacting us and bringing your concern to our attention.
That is normal if you’re inspecting your sitemap URL in your Google Search Console.
You’ll get the error if you inspect your sitemaps because, by default, sitemaps are set to Noindex as they are meant to be crawled and not to be displayed on search results pages.
You should only submit your sitemap to the sitemap section of your GSC account and shouldn’t use the URL inspection tool for the sitemap URLs.

Hope that helps and please don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any other questions.
I have done the same. but when I publish new posts and submit them for indexing, it shows “No referring sitemaps detected”, and the post shows ”
Page is not indexed: URL is unknown to Google”, in this case, what should I do.
My first Two blogs and homepage got indexed, from last seven days, not a single post have been indexed. I am still posting daily for consistency. But it is of no use because of not indexing. Please help….
Hello,
Please make sure that the affected post is currently listed in your sitemap. You may share the post URL here so we can check it from our end.
Please note that the “no referring sitemap detected” means the page has been discovered by Google, and Google knows about it.
Also, note that a sitemap is only one of many ways Google discovers the URLs of your site. If Google discovers the URL through other means, it may not cross-reference your sitemap to check if the URL is there. Hence the “No referring sitemaps” message.
Looking forward to helping you.

this is my blog link. It shows “Page is not indexed: URL is unknown to Google”, I want to know that, this problem is from my end or this is the actual status we see, while a page is already queued to GSC. When I run live test, it shows that page can be indexed!
Crawled as Google Inspection Tool : smartphone
Crawl allowed? : Yes
Page fetch : Successful
Indexing allowed? : Yes
I am so confused about how much time it takes a page to be indexed. Is there any other option to check that is my page is already in indexing queue or cancelled, because it is also showing “REQUEST INDEXING” option.
please reply soon, thanks in advance.
Hello,
From the details shared, it seems there’s no issue on your end as the sitemap and post are properly configured.
The message “URL is unknown to Google” simply means the page has not yet been crawled or indexed. Google can take time to index new posts, and the process is not always immediate, even after submitting for indexing.
If the live test confirms that the page can be indexed, then there’s no technical issue. The page is either queued for indexing or awaiting Google’s internal processing.
Some further steps you can take are to:
– Build internal links to the post from other indexed pages.
– Share the link on social media or other platforms to create external backlinks.
Unfortunately, there’s no way to see the exact status of Google’s indexing queue. Please note that it is totally Google’s algorithm’s choice whether to index a webpage or not. Google prioritizes unique content that fulfills relevant search queries.
We hope that helps.
Thanks.
Thanks for your reply,
As you said that there is no problem with the page, But it is almost 10-12 days of submitting indexing request, so I will check it back later if it is failed or not indexed.
