I am having an issue with my sitemap after installing your plugin getting an error with Google Webmaster tools saying it “couldn’t fetch the site” dud to No: ‘noindex’ detected in ‘X-Robots-Tag’ http header. I can not find this in the code and am quite confused.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Hello,

Thanks for contacting us and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

The first step will be to remove the currently submitted sitemaps from your GSC.
Do you have any caching plugins on your site? It seems like your sitemap is being heavily cached. Please exclude your sitemap URLs from being cached:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/

and clear your cache then do the following:

    1. Head over to WordPress Dashboard > Settings > Permalinks

    Hit the save button once.

    2. Go to WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > Sitemap Settings

    Hit the save button once.

    3. Once this is done, now head back to your GSC and resubmit ONLY your main sitemap(sitemap_index.xml)

    That should fix the issue.

If it doesn’t, please do let us know so we can look at this further.

    Thank you for the help

if I may know where the sitemap_index.xml file is in cpanel so that I can see the contents in my sitemap

    Hello,

    Thanks for your reply.

if I may know where the sitemap_index.xml file is in cpanel so that I can see the contents in my sitemap

Rank Math generates the Sitemaps on runtime and all the data is stored in the database, meaning that the files are not physically present on the location, they are dynamically generated.

Description: Your Sitemap does not contain any URL. Please validate and resubmit your Sitemap.

I tested your sitemap using Sitemap Validator and there were errors related to incorrect HTTP header type. Please see the screenshot available in the sensitive data section of this ticket.

This is likely because your sitemap is being cached. Could you please confirm whether you performed the steps suggested by my colleague previously in this ticket?

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Thanks.

I’ve done that but nothing changes

    Hello,

    Thanks for the reply.

We might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.
    Sensitive Data Section

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-security-audit-log/

We really look forward to helping you.

    Hello,

Thank you for the update, and sorry for the delay.

I’ve checked your site, and it seems that you’re using a 3rd party plugin to generate your sitemap. We recommend using only 1 plugin for your sitemaps to avoid conflict issues. If you still wanted to use that, please disable the Sitemap module on your WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > Dashboard.

If you wanted to use Rank Math to generate your sitemap, please disable that plugin and delete any sitemap_index.xml file in your root directory, as Rank Math’s sitemap is generated virtually. Then follow the steps my colleague mentioned above.

Let us know how this goes.

I hope that helps. Thank you, and looking forward to your update.

    Hello,

Since we did not hear back from you for 15 days, we are assuming that you found the solution. We are closing this support ticket.

If you still need assistance or any other help, please feel free to open a new support ticket, and we will be more than happy to assist.

    Thank you.
