Sitemap Issue – Product & Pages Sitemap Not Generating

#1092784
  • I am facing an issue with the sitemap generation on my website using Rank Math (Free version). The problem is that the Product sitemap and the Pages sitemap are not being generated, while the Product category and Blog category sitemaps are being created without any issue. I am using rankmath from 1 year on my website, previously it was working fine, I just faced this issue a couple of days ago.

Here are the details and troubleshooting steps I have already tried:

Checked Sitemap Settings: All sitemap settings are enabled properly in the Rank Math Sitemap settings.

Plugin Re-installation: I uninstalled and reinstalled the Rank Math plugin, but the issue still persists.

Cache Check: There is no caching plugin installed on my website, so cache is not the issue.

Plugin Conflict Check: I disabled all other plugins to test for conflicts, but I didn’t find any plugin conflict.

Backup & Restore: I also exported/imported Rank Math settings, but still the product and pages sitemaps are not generating.

Currently, the sitemap only generates for:

    Blog Categories

    Product Categories

But it does not generate for:

    Products

    Pages

I would really appreciate it if you could guide me on how to resolve this issue.

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with the sitemap generation on your website using Rank Math. Thank you for providing detailed information about the troubleshooting steps you’ve already taken.

Since you’ve confirmed that the sitemap settings are enabled and have already checked for plugin conflicts, here are a few additional steps you can try:

    1. Flush Permalinks: Sometimes, flushing the permalinks can resolve issues with sitemap generation. You can do this by going to Settings → Permalinks in your WordPress admin area and clicking the “Save Changes” button without making any changes.
      Flush permalink settings

    2. Check for Content: Ensure that you have published products and pages on your site. If there are no products or pages, the sitemaps will not generate.

    3. Sitemap Settings: Double-check the settings under Rank Math SEO → Sitemap Settings to ensure that both Products and Pages are set to be included in the sitemap.

    4. Custom Canonicals: If you have set custom canonical URLs for your products or pages, they may not appear in the sitemap. Consider removing any custom canonicals to see if that resolves the issue.

    5. Debugging: If the above steps do not resolve the issue, you might want to enable debugging in WordPress to see if any errors are being logged that could provide more insight into the problem.

If these steps do not help, we recommend replying to this ticket with your website URL so that a human agent from our support team can assist you further. They will be able to take a closer look at your specific setup and provide more tailored assistance.

Thank you for your patience, and we hope to resolve this issue for you soon!

I have carefully checked and applied the solution you provided, but unfortunately the issue still persists. Here are the details:

Product sitemap and page sitemap are not being generated.

Blog category and product category sitemaps are generated successfully.

All sitemap settings are enabled correctly in RankMath.

I do not have any cache plugin installed on my website.

I have already checked for plugin conflicts but did not find any issues.

I also tried disabling and re-enabling the sitemap feature, clearing transients, and reinstalling RankMath, but the issue remains the same.

At this point, the problem seems unrelated to the basic settings or plugin conflicts. Could you please help me investigate this further?

    Hello,

It mostly happens when your sitemap is heavily cached. In this case, you can apply the following filter to your site to disable the transients cache for the sitemap:

    add_filter( 'rank_math/sitemap/enable_caching', '__return_false');

Here’s how you can add a filter/hook to your WordPress site:

If the issue persists, we might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.

Please do take a complete backup of your website before sharing the information with us.

I have the same problem and have tried all the troubleshooting steps.

I ended up needing to use another sitemap generator to update the sitemap.

Yes unfortunately I did the same.

    Hello @t-idigitalsolutions,

Sorry about this. We would like to check the issue further. Can you please share your website’s WP admin and FTP login as we have suggested here?
