Hello,
Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.
I’ve checked your sitemap, and it seems to be working fine.
However, your robots.txt does not include your sitemap file. Here are our recommended rules to use in robots.txt:
https://rankmath.com/kb/how-to-edit-robots-txt-with-rank-math/#default-rulesOnce done, remove all your submitted sitemaps and resubmit your main sitemap index only. Then, give Google some time to recrawl your site.
I hope that helps.
Thank you.
Thank you, I did it before by adding the sitemap in the robots.txt, but still the same issue,
However, I will try again now and will let you know the results after 3 hoursHello,
I checked your robots.txt where your sitemap is still not added.
Please check if you have any physical robots.txt file present in your site’s root folder and remove it if you find the file. Then, our robots.txt will take over and generates on the fly where your sitemap will be included as well.
Let us know how that goes.
I appreciate your fast response, I deleted the physical robots.txt file, you may chack now,
Do you I need anything else to do please?Hello,
Your sitemap is loading and validating properly.
Please remove all the sitemaps from your GSC and add only primary sitemap (https://yourdomain.com/sitemap_index.xm).
Once done, clear your website’s and server (if any) cache and wait for Google to crawl the sitemap.
Hope this helps and let us know if you need any help with anything else.
I did all of that, still google same, but I added to bing and it read it quickly and it should be working, anything else to do for google?
Hello,
Please make sure that the Last Crawl date has been updated. If Google has already crawled the sitemap and still hasn’t discovered any URLs, it just means that the URLs in the sitemap were already found by Googlebot by other means, instead of via the sitemap. For example, Googlebot may have found the URLs from internal links or possibly from links on another site.
Hope this helps. Let us know if you need any other assistance.
Thanks.
Hello,
The issue still exist, the last crawl from google to the sitemap is today,
should I give you login details for my website to check by yourself the issue?Hello,
This is not an issue, your sitemap is working fine, it shows 0 Discovered URLs if Googlebot has already crawled those links but not through the sitemap.
Please make sure that the sitemaps are excluded from caching:
https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/Hope this helps.
Thank you.
I removed the caching from Cloudflare and Wp Rocket, I will update you after few hours what will happen,
I hope it will start to read the child sitemaps
This issue affected indexing badly for my websiteHello,
Since the sitemap is working fine and Google is able to crawl it, the reason for the zero discovered URLs must be that Google has already discovered the URLs by some other methods like internal linking.
If all the URLs are getting discovered, there is nothing to be worried about. Please use the URL inspection tool to confirm if the latest URL is discovered or not.
Let us know how that goes. Looking forward to helping you.
The issue still exist after trying all fixes.
Now, the console shows: “indexed, but not submitted in sitemap”
that means that sitemap is not updated for google or what?
Can you please help? it has been 5 days since I posted the issue with no solutoinHello,
Indexed, Not Submitted in Sitemap, it is not an issue, it only means that Google has already indexed the posts/pages but not through the sitemap.
It is possible that Google is crawling and indexing the post through the internal links on your website and not through the sitemap, and as a result, the crawl budget for your website is exhausted and Google is not able to discover the URLs through your sitemap.
As long as the posts/pages are getting crawled and indexed, there’s nothing to be worried about.
Hope this helps.
