Flush Permalinks: If you are getting a 404 error, try flushing your permalinks by going to the Permalinks page in your WordPress dashboard and clicking Save Changes without making any changes. This often resolves access issues.

Validate Your Sitemap: Use the Validate XML Sitemap tool to ensure your sitemap is correctly configured. If there are no issues detected, it should confirm that your sitemap is valid.

Check Sitemap Location: Ensure your sitemap is located at the correct URL, typically https://yourdomainname.com/sitemap_index.xml

Ensure Posts Are Set to Index: If all your posts are set to noindex, your sitemap will be empty. Go to Rank Math SEO → Titles & Meta and ensure the Index checkbox is enabled for your posts.

Check for Plugin Conflicts: Sometimes, other plugins can conflict with Rank Math. You can use the Health Check plugin to identify any conflicts.

Please follow the steps below to see if it works for you.
#1. Flush the Sitemap cache by following this video screencast:

#2. Exclude the Sitemap files of the Rank Math plugin in your caching plugin. The cache could be via a plugin or from the server. For plugins or Cloudflare, please follow this article:

#3. If the above steps doesn’t seem to work, kindly apply the following filter code to your site.
add_filter( 'rank_math/sitemap/enable_caching', '__return_false');

Once done, please clear your website cache, remove all the submitted sitemaps, and resubmit only the main sitemap in the Search Console and see if that works for you.
