Hello,
We apologize for the issue you are facing with your sitemap after migrating from Yoast to Rank Math. It sounds like there are a couple of things we can check to resolve the 404 error for the post sitemap and the issue with the feature sitemap.
1. Flush Permalinks
First, try flushing your permalinks. This is a common fix for sitemap issues. To do this:
- Go to your WordPress admin area.
- Navigate to Settings → Permalinks.
- Click the Save Changes button, even if you didn’t make any changes on the page.

2. Check Sitemap Settings
Ensure that your posts and features are not blocked from appearing in the sitemap:
- Go to Rank Math SEO → Sitemap Settings.
- Make sure that the options for including posts and features in the sitemap are enabled.
3. Check for Plugin Conflicts
Sometimes, other plugins can conflict with Rank Math. You can use the Health Check plugin to identify any potential conflicts.
4. Review Robots.txt
Make sure that your robots.txt
file is not blocking access to your sitemaps. You can check this in Rank Math SEO → General Settings → robots.txt.
If these steps do not resolve the issue, please reply to this ticket with any error messages you see or additional details, and a human agent from our support team will assist you further.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention!

These steps I doubled checked and done already. Still it didn’t work.
Hello,
Thank you for contacting us and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.
It looks like you’re currently using the AIO SEO plugin on your website. Can you please reinstall the Rank Math plugin so that we can check the issue further for you?
Looking forward to helping you.
Ok, We activated Rankmath, please check.
Hello,
The two conditions for a post/page/CPT to be added to the sitemap are that they are set to index
and have self-referencing canonical URLs.
On this post https://messageblink.com/how-to-automate-sms-whatsapp-messaging-in-salesforce/ we can see that the canonical URL is different; it doesn’t have a trailing slash.

It is possible you might have manually added the canonical URL on the affected posts. Please remove any manually entered canonical URL and allow Rank Math to automatically generate the correct self-referencing canonical URL.
Let us know how it goes. Looking forward to helping you.
Thank you.
