the sitemap is not showing my home page. I have gone through the steps of checking the canonical URL, the plug ins on my site, the robots meta and made sure index was checked, made sure I wasn’t excluding it in posts or terms, and made sure to clear my cache. I am still not seeing it, and a few other pages. Can you help me figure out why this is happening?

  • Hello,

I apologize for the issue you are facing with your sitemap not indexing your home page. It sounds like you’ve already taken several important steps to troubleshoot the problem. Here are a few additional things you can check:

    1. Check Your Sitemap URL: Ensure that you are submitting the correct sitemap URL to Google. The correct URL for your sitemap should be https://yourdomainname/sitemap_index.xml. Replace yourdomainname with your actual domain.

    2. Robots.txt File: Double-check your robots.txt file to ensure that there are no rules blocking Google from accessing your home page or other pages. You can use the robots.txt testing tool to verify this.

    3. Custom Canonicals: If you have set custom canonical URLs for your home page or other pages, they may not appear in the sitemap. Rank Math includes a self-referencing canonical by default, so consider removing any custom canonicals if applicable.

    4. Sitemap Settings in Rank Math: Go to Rank Math SEO → Sitemap Settings and ensure that the home page is set to be included in the sitemap.

    5. Check for Plugin Conflicts: Sometimes, other plugins can conflict with Rank Math. You can use the Health Check plugin to identify any potential conflicts.

If you’ve checked all of these and are still having issues, please reply to this ticket with your site URL so we can assist you further. A human agent from our support team will take over and help resolve this issue for you.

Thank you for raising this concern!

#3. If the above steps don’t seem to work, kindly apply the following filter code to your site.
