    Hello RankMath team,

I have gone through the help documentation and none of the solutions are working to automatically update the sitemap for the custom post types.

this sitemap has been updated after following the “links per sitemap’ trick but that is manual and it hasn’t been updated since.

    a. CDN cloudflare is not caching sitemap.
    b. Optimization service, NitroPack is also not optimizing/caching sitemap.

    Please help.

Also, author tab is not available to me. The documentation mentioned something about checking author tab but I can’t access it to check since it’s just not there.

Note: Website is for a car dealership and inventory is updated daily (every 4hrs) so the up to date sitemap is important, especially that optimizations and cache is used.

Once again, please help and looking forward to a fix.

ALso, forgot to mention the PAGES sitemap.

    It’s not including all pages.
    https://www.luminauto.com/page-sitemap.xml

There are at least 4 other pages that are not on there. Not sure why that is happening.

    Hello,

Thanks for contacting us and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

If your sitemap updates after changing the links per sitemap then it means that the sitemap is getting cached. Please make sure to follow this guide and add the exclusion rules in Cloudflare and your caching plugin: https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/

Also, add the filter given below in your theme’s functions.php file to make sure that there is no server-side cache:

    add_filter( 'rank_math/sitemap/enable_caching', '__return_false');

And if you are concerned about the Author tab in the sitemap settings then that is only visible when you have enabled the Author Archives in WP Dashboard > Rank Math > Titles & Meta > Authors. However, that tab is for the author sitemap and doesn’t have anything to do with the caching/updating issue.

Please share the URL of the excluded pages so we can check and assist you further.

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Hello,

Thank you for your response and for the snippet of code!

I think that has fixed that issue and the sitemap is now current on a daily basis.

One other issues still remains. The Pages sitemap is only showing 3 pages in the sitemap from the total of 8 live pages that need to be included.

    Thank you in advance.

    Hello,

We might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.

Please do take a complete backup of your website before sharing the information with us.
    Sensitive Data Section

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    Hello,

I can check that you have manually added the canonical URL in the Advanced tab of the meta box. Rank Math automatically sets the self-referencing canonical URL for your posts and pages. You should only enter the canonical manually when you want to set a different URL than the post’s URL as if you enter a canonical manually then it will not be included in the sitemap.

Please remove the canonical URLs from the advanced tab of the meta box and the pages will be included in the sitemap after that.

Hope this helps. Let us know if you need any other assistance.

    Hello,

Since we did not hear back from you for 15 days, we are assuming that you found the solution. We are closing this support ticket.

If you still need assistance or any other help, please feel free to open a new support ticket, and we will be more than happy to assist.

    Thank you.
