I have tried both solutions.
At this one: “Another scenario is that you have a static file with the same name as you sitemap file (sitemap_index.xml). You should FTP into your server and remove the file.”
I couldn’t find any sitemap_index.xml on FTP.
Is this a common issue when switching from Yoast? I took down the staging site now as I can’t push it live with no visable sitemap.
Hi there,
Thanks for the follow up.
No this is not a common issue when switching from Yoast. It is likely that there is a configuration issues on your end that is causing the sitemap error.
Since you have already taken down the staging site, do you think you could test this on a local version of your site and check if you can reproduce this?
Let me know how this goes.
