Sitemap Index Missing Post, Tour & other links

#1091183
  • Hello Rank Math Support Team,

I’m experiencing an issue where the https://www.male.tours/sitemap_index.xml file for my site only lists the Pages sitemap, even though the Posts and Tours sitemaps are accessible individually (e.g. post-sitemap.xml, tour-sitemap.xml). These sitemaps are functional and contain the expected URLs, but they are not included in the sitemap index.

Here are the steps I’ve already completed:

Confirmed all relevant post types (posts, tours, pages) are enabled in Rank Math → Sitemap Settings.
Verified that all pages and posts are published and set to Index in Rank Math → Titles & Meta.
Flushed Permalinks via Settings → Permalinks → Save Changes without altering.
    Cleared any caching.

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with your sitemap index not including the Posts and Tours sitemaps. Thank you for providing detailed steps you’ve already taken; that helps us understand your situation better.

Here are a few additional troubleshooting steps you can try:

    1. Check Sitemap Settings: Ensure that the relevant post types (Posts, Tours) are indeed enabled in Rank Math → Sitemap Settings. Sometimes, settings may revert or not save correctly.

    2. Ensure Posts Are Set to Index: Double-check that all posts and tours are set to index. You can do this by going to Rank Math SEO → Titles & Meta and ensuring the Index checkbox is enabled for each post type.
      Index Titles and Meta settings

    3. Validate Your Sitemap: Use the Validate XML Sitemap tool to check if there are any issues with your sitemap configuration.

    4. Check for Plugin Conflicts: Sometimes, other plugins can interfere with Rank Math’s functionality. You can use the Health Check plugin to identify any potential conflicts.

    5. Review Robots.txt: Ensure that your robots.txt file is not blocking any of the sitemaps. You can check this in Rank Math SEO → General Settings → robots.txt.

If you’ve tried all these steps and the issue persists, we recommend replying to this ticket with your site URL so that a human agent from our support team can assist you further.

Thank you for your patience, and we look forward to resolving this issue for you!

Thanks. I went through all the troubleshooting steps you provided above, but the issue is still the same.

    Hello,

Please check your posts and custom post types’ robots meta and ensure that they are set to index.

Head over to Rank Math > Titles & Meta > Post > Post Robots Meta.

If the issue persists, here’s a guide for some common reasons why a URL is not included in the sitemap:
