    hi there

    i’m getting this error at my sitemap link: “error on line 4 at column 6: XML declaration allowed only at the start of the document”

    I’ve been using Yoast from the beginning, but yesterday just found out that there was an error with the sitemap. I’ve tried to fix it by spotting extra spaces in the current theme’s functions.php file, but found none. However, I’ve found some extra spaces at the end of other three .php theme files and consequently fixed them by deleting these spaces, but that didn’t help. so I switched to rank math (was going to, anyway) to see if that would solve the problem, but it still persists. could you please help me to sort it out? I’ve set up a temporary access for you (details below). thanks!

    Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.

    I’ve checked your site for a plugin conflict using the Health Check plugin, and it seems that the conflicting plugin is TheFork Widgets. You can temporarily disable that plugin, and your sitemap is showing fine. I’ve also attached a screencast in the sensitive data section for your reference.

    In this case, you may need to get in touch with the developer of that plugin to check if they are adding some white spaces in your functions.php or wp-config.php file. It is also possible that they already have a fix for this issue.

    I’ve managed to eliminate the blank spaces in the plugin myself, and now it all works just fine.
