So when i try to validate my sitemap am getting an error still in the validator -> Incorrect http header content-type: “text/html; charset=UTF-8” (expected: “application/xml”)

Could you please share the sitemap URL so we can check it as well?

You can add it in the sensitive data section

    Hello,

We checked and tested your sitemap using https://www.xml-sitemaps.com/validate-xml-sitemap.html Sitemap validator tool and found your sitemap to be functional and without errors:

Perhaps clearing the cache and excluding the files from being cached resolved the issue.

According to John Mueller, if the sitemaps are valid and still aren’t functioning or couldn’t be read, then changing the name of the sitemap file can do the magic.

In Google Search Console, head over to Indexing → Sitemaps. In the Add a new sitemap setting, paste the below sitemap URL and click SUBMIT.

    https://yourdomain.com/?sitemap=1

Let us know how this goes.

still it has not worked, i tried verifying the site and no issues but when i submit the sitemap am getting the same error

    Hello,

We’ve tried to check your sitemap and we can see it is currently returning a 404 error. In this case, please try to follow the steps below and see if that works for you.

    1. Flush the Sitemap cache by following this video screencast:
    https://i.rankmath.com/pipRDp

    2. Exclude the Sitemap files of the Rank Math plugin in your caching plugin. The cache could be via a plugin or from the server. For plugins or Cloudflare, please follow this article:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/

    3. If the above steps don’t seem to work, kindly apply the following filter to your site.

    add_filter( 'rank_math/sitemap/enable_caching', '__return_false');

Here’s how you can add filter/hook to your WordPress site:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/wordpress-hooks-actions-filters/

Once done, clear your website cache, remove all the submitted sitemap, and resubmit only the /sitemap_index.xml in the Search Console.

Let us know how it goes. Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you.

tried this and did not work
