    The sitemap of my website is not fetching in google search console and when I open it by going to the sitemap setting of rank math, then the link is getting opened, The errors I am getting in the search console are below

    1.General HTTP error
    1 instance
    We encountered an error while trying to access your sitemap. Please ensure that your sitemap is present at the specified address and is not blocked to Google. See our help center for more debugging help.

    2.Sitemap is HTML
    1 instance
    Your Sitemap appears to be an HTML page. Please use a supported sitemap format instead.

    Can you please share the sitemap URL with us?

    You can also follow these steps and see if that helps:
    1. Flush the Sitemap cache by following this video screencast:

    2. Exclude the Sitemap files of the Rank Math plugin in your caching plugin. The cache could be via a plugin or from the server. For plugins or Cloudflare, please follow this article:

    3. Remove all the sitemaps from Search Console, clear your website cache, and resubmit the sitemap_index.xml

    I checked the sitemap, it is returning a 404 error.

    Please add this filter to your website and see if that fixes the issue:

    add_filter( 'rank_math/sitemap/enable_caching', '__return_false');

    Here is a guide you can follow to add the filter:

    Once done, flush the Sitemap cache by following this video screencast in the previous reply, clear the website cache and resubmit the sitemap. Then, wait for Google to crawl the sitemap.

    Hello,

    You can add the code at the last line (bottom part) of your theme’s functions.php file.
