Hello,
Thanks for contacting us, and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.
I’ve checked the affected sitemap URLs and most likely you’ve set the limit to 10000 for links per sitemap.
We’ve observed that Google responds better to smaller pages in sitemaps. Thus, we do recommend to set limit for links per sitemap from 200 to 500.
The sitemap with a large number of URLs often takes time to load and which is why Google prefers more smaller sitemap files. That means, it’s preferable to set links per sitemap to 500 to keep things easier and smaller.
Please try set the limit to a lower number and re-submitting your
sitemap_index.xml
only to GSC to see if that works for you.Let us know how it goes. Looking forward to helping you.
Thank you.
Hi,
so 200+ sitemaps are no issue?
(check link 2 in sensitive data)
We run 5 stores, all of which have more than 90K products, so a total of ~100K links per shop. Some shops perform well with 10K links per sitemap,
but we have a problem only with this one,
we still facing issues after doing 500 per sitemap.
Hello,
Having a large number of sitemaps shouldn’t cause you any issues. As Google responds better to smaller sitemaps.
As you’re still facing the issue, can you please try removing all of your sitemap present in GSC and re-submit only
sitemap_index.xml
to see if that works for you? As I can see your sitemaps now loading faster than before.Let us know how it goes. Looking forward to helping you.
Thank you.
Hello,
I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

Hi, image is updated
Hello,
Checking the affected sitemap, it seems to be loading just fine, with no header or response issue.
Please get in touch with your web host and ask them to set at least the following values:
PHP Memory Limit: 512M Max input time: 150 PHP time limit: 120 PHP max input variables: 1000
After that, please follow the steps below and allow Google to recrawl your sitemap or you can re-submit it:
1. Flush the Sitemap cache by following this video screencaast:
https://i.rankmath.com/pipRDp2. Exclude the Sitemap files of the Rank Math plugin in your caching plugin. The cache could be via a plugin or from the server. For plugins or Cloudflare, please follow this article:
https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/Let us know how that goes. Looking forward to helping you.
PHP Memory Limit: 512M – we already have 1024M , do we need to decrease to 512? If yes, why?
Max input time: 150 – we already have 300 , do we need to decrease it to 150 ? If yes, why?
PHP time limit: 120 – we already have 300 , do we need to decrease it to 150 ? If yes, why?
PHP max input variables: 1000 – we already have 10000, do we need to decrease it to 1000 ? if yes, why?
P.s Excluding sitemap in our WP super cache has been done already since the site was created.
Hello,
No need to decrease the PHP value if they are already higher than the recommended configuration we shared.
If the issue persists, please try removing all your sitemaps from Google Search Console and submit only
https://DOMAIN.COM/?sitemap=1
.Let us know if Google is still reporting errors.
Looking forward to helping you with this one.
