Hi,
We started using Rank Math instead of Yoast SEO and used the migration description on your website. After the migration we came to the conclusion that our sitemap is now blank. There is source info by the way. (https://www.allsize-webwinkel.nl/sitemap_index.xml.)
This is what I tried after this discovery:
1. Changed number of links per sitemap
2. Saved Permalinks
3. Cleared all cacheCan you help us?
With kind regards,
Barry Tuinstra

Hello,
Thank you for contacting Rank Math, and sorry for any inconvenience caused.
Please exclude the Sitemap files of the Rank Math plugin in your caching plugin. The cache could be via a plugin or from the server. For plugins or Cloudflare, please follow this article:
https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/Once done, clear your website cache and check the sitemap.
If the issue persists, then assuming you are using the latest version of all the plugins and the themes (please update if not yet), it would seem like a conflict with one of the plugins or the theme you are using.
To determine that, please follow this troubleshooting guide:
https://rankmath.com/kb/check-plugin-conflicts/Here is a video you can follow as well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FcIWRhcUP2c
Only the site admin would know and your users won’t be affected by this troubleshooting.
Let us know how it goes.
We really look forward to helping you.
Hi Anas,
Thanks for your reply, unfortunately it hasn’t worked. I’ve added the 2 lines to WP Rocket to exclude the sitemap from cache. Also during the troubleshoot the sitemap wasn’t visible.
If I install Yoast and disable RankMath the sitemap IS visible.
Hello,
In this case, we might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.
Please do take a complete backup of your website before sharing the information with us.
It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/
You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):
https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-security-audit-log/
We really look forward to helping you.
Thank you.
Hi Reinelle,
thanks for the respons.
In the mean time I’ve completely erased Rank Math from the database, installed Yoast again and Rank Math too. I did the whole process of installation, connecting our account and importing data from Yoast again but unfortunately it didn’t work.
I did the same thing on one of our others sites and that went great.
I’ve installed both plugins you referred to but now I need an e-mailaddress to use for a temporary role.
Hello,
You can use
s******@r***********email address and put any First and Lastname.Once done, please add the login details in the sensitive data section.
Looking forward to helping you.
Thank you.
Hello,
I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?
Thank you.
Thanks, I’ve added the sensitive data
Hello,
I logged in to your website and checked the settings.
This seems like a conflict with the theme or one of the plugins.
I tried to check for conflict using the Health Check plugin but the website is returning a 500 error when this plugin is activated.
As the Health Check plugin is not working, we’ll have to manually disable the plugins to check the issue.
Alternatively, you can create a staging website and replicate the issue there and share its logins so that we can perform the troubleshooting there and your live website doesn’t get affected by the troubleshooting.
You may follow this article to create the staging website: https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-create-staging-environment-for-a-wordpress-site/
Looking forward to helping you.
Thank you.
Can we schedule this early in the morning someday? For us it’s no problem to put the shop offline for a few hours.
If so, which day?
Hello,
You don’t have to create a staging site. I was able to check that the issue was caused by the Unicode character in the blogname option of your database’s wp_options table. I have fixed it and now your sitemap is working fine.
Please check and let us know if you need any other assistance.
Thanks.
I see it, thanks!
Hello,
We are super happy that this resolved your issue.
If you have another question in the future, please feel free to create a new forum topic, and it will be our pleasure to assist you again.
Thank you.
Hi Jeremy,
Unfortunately the sitemap remains blank in a normal window. The sitemap only shows in a incognito window.
How is that possible?
Hello,
I checked your sitemap and it seems to be loading fine even in an incognito tab:
Please try re-submitting your sitemap to your Google Search Console and see if Google is able to read the sitemap.
Looking forward to helping you.
Hi Jeremy,
Google Search Console is not the problem, the problem is that I can’t see the sitemap. I can see the sitemap ONLY in an incognito tab.
In a normal tab and even on my mobile the sitamp remains blank…
