  • Hello, we apologize for the issue you are facing with your site title appearing as a generic URL in the SERP and Open Graph (OG) metadata.

To ensure that your site title is displayed correctly, you can follow these steps:

    1. Set Your Site Title in WordPress:

      • Go to WordPress Dashboard → Settings → General and enter your desired site name in the Site Title field. This will be used as the default title for your site.
Enter a site name in Site Title field
    2. Configure Open Graph Metadata:

      • If you have Rank Math installed, navigate to Rank Math → Titles & Meta → Local SEO. Here, make sure to fill in the Website Name field with your desired site title. This will be used for the og:site_name tag.
Head over to Rank Math SEO
    3. Check Your Homepage Meta Title:

      • Ensure that your homepage meta title is set correctly. You can do this by going to Rank Math → Titles & Meta → Homepage and setting the meta title to include your site name.

    4. Verify Changes:

      • After making these changes, you may need to wait for Google to crawl your site again or use best practices to inform Google of the updates.

If you have followed these steps and are still experiencing issues, please reply to this ticket, and a human agent from the Rank Math Support team will assist you further.

    Hello,

Thank you for your query and we are so sorry about the trouble this must have caused.

Here’s a full guide you can follow to change the title of your Opengraph meta tags: https://rankmath.com/kb/open-graph-meta-tags/#og-meta-tags

Since the field accepts variables created by Rank Math, you can simply set the title as %sitename% to get the details from your WordPress settings.

    Hope that helps.

I think I am unable to explain my issue or understand your provided solution, but although my issue was get solved for OG by creating a new user with the username as of site title. For SERP i hope it will be updated next time Google crawl…
