site migration

May I ask can Rank Math Suite help me to prepare for a site migration? For instance, export all the meta data, quick batch analysis all the links to know their HTTP status/ redirects/ traffic potentially lost or gained, check sitemap, check robots.txt, render Javascript to HTML, etc?

Site migration also is different for each site, using back the same domain, currently all URL are HTTP (redirect to HTTPS will be considered as site migration too), so I should build it on a subdomain/subdirectory, then take over the main domain later on?

until I figure out the exact steps to do a (or 5) proper site migration (involve HTTP 301 redirect to HTTPS, website redesign, merging 4 websites http://xacademyasia.com/, http://www.asiainfluencerx.com, http://www.singmalaysia.com, http://www.fanyafu.com), switch to a new CMS (page builder website to wordpress website), change website architecture.

URL path not recomended to change, I think that’s because of the traffic, impressions, backlinks, positions, CTR, DR accrue to all the permalinks right? Then content also should not be changed if organic keyword has ranked? How about the images? I need to map URL path of the page builder website with the wordpress website? I need to 301 redirect all those old URLs to the new ones?

One thing weird about website built using page builder by hosting provider – no internal links with the current URL ? Is it considered as orphaned pages? How to detect them?

  • Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    Dear Jaideep,

Here’s a temporary login URL to my website.

    Please rectify the problem.
    Thank you.
    Best regards,

    Hello,

The user you have created for us doesn’t have admin-level access. Please provide it so we can check this further.

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Thanks.

    Dear Jaideep,
Here’s the author level sign in link.
    Thank you.
    Best regards,
    Chong

    Hello,

Please provide admin-level access as with the current access I can only check the posts section and there are no posts. I can’t check if the data from Yoast has been imported or not without admin-level access. We will not make any changes to your site without your permission.

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Thanks.

    Dear Jaideep,

I thought author level is same as admin level?

    Thank you.
    Best regards,

    Hello,

The following article details the differences between all the default user levels: https://wordpress.org/support/article/roles-and-capabilities/#summary-of-roles

According to the linked document, the ‘author’ user level can only “publish and manage their own posts.”

Please let us know if you have questions. We are here to help.

    Dear Nigel,
Here’s the administrator login link, please rectify as soon as possible, else, I’m stucked between Yoast and RankMath!

If anything cause SEO performance to fall, I’ll be in trouble, maybe making the switch is a bad choice, please advise how to switch back to before the switch.

    Thank you.
    Best regards,
    Chong

    Hello,

Thank you for the user level update. However, when I checked the site, I still don’t have admin access. Please see the dashboard screenshot below:

For the current task you want help with, migrating from Yoast SEO to Rank Math, you can refer to the following article: https://rankmath.com/kb/yoast-seo-migration/

I took the time to go through this discussion from start to your last reply just to make sure I am up-to-date on everything. I have one note to add, for a migration that involves a change in the design of a website, it is difficult to avoid some instability in the SEO performance of a website. However, a good redesign and migration will result in a long term improvement, we are here to help with that. You can also refer to the following article: https://www.searchenginejournal.com/google-advises-redesign-impact-on-seo/375492/

Looking forward to helping you with the Yoast SEO migration.
