Hi there, just started using Rank Math and loving it so far. However, Just trying to resolve an issue that I also had with Yoast before turning to your plugin.
First of all, I’m a bit of a newbie, so bare with, please.
Basically, when using Rank Math, the ‘lang’ attribute in the header of my website’s source code is automatically set to <html class=”html” lang=”es-ES” and the locale is set to <meta property=”og:locale” content=”es_ES. These appear to be automatically determined by the written language I have on the front side of the website, not by the site language, which I tried changing.
Do you know I can get the ‘lang’ attribute to be in en-GB but the ‘locale’ attribute to be for es-ES? This is basically because many of our clients are English people in Spain who search using the English language. Because of the es-ES attributes, we don’t appear very high up on google for English search entries, even though we have our website translated into English as well.
If I change the written language on the front of the page to English, then the rank math plugin (and the Yoast plugin) automatically changes the lang and locale code in the header to en-GB, resulting in google assuming our website is not in Spain and thus hindering our search results for our clients in Spain.
I really hope I’m making sense. As, I said, but of a newbie.
Can you help?
Thanks in advance
