site cannot be found on focus keyword.

    Hi,

My site cannot be found on the focus keyword in Google

I have the focus keyword ‘platenzaak’ set on my homepage. I believe I have set all the settings correctly in RankMath. I think I tried everything to solve the problem. My website is indexed. I don’t have any pages blocked for indexing. I don’t have duplicate content. Everything in search console looks fine (no penaltys, deleted sitemap and submit again). It’s not a new website (almost 3 years old). According to RankMath SEO analysis my SEO score is 80, which is fine I believe.

I don’t know what the problem is, but I don’t see any mistakes in my settings or Google Search console. RankMath is connected with my Search console and Google Analytics. It might have to do with switching to a different theme. 2 weeks ago I switched to the oceanwp theme. First week of using the theme, everything looked fine and I was even ranking up on the focus keyword in Google. The second week my site was suddenly completely gone in the search results of the focus keyword. When I type in site:https://gooischvinyl.nl I can see all of my pages. The only problem is I cannot be found on the focus keyword.

Hope it was clear enough for you and maybe you can give some tips to solve this problem.

    Best regards,

    Simon

    Hello,

Thanks for contacting us and we regret the inconvenience caused.

I searched the keyword and I was able to find your website on the first page of the search results (6th position).

Please have a look at this screencast for a quick reference:
    https://i.rankmath.com/Rda4nc

With that being said, a sudden drop in traffic could be due to many reasons and one of the most common reasons is Google’s algorithmic update.

You can read more about this in this tutorial guide:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/how-to-find-keywords-your-website-ranks-for/

    Hope that helps.

    Thank you.

    Hi Prabhat,

    Thanks for the quick response!

It’s really weird how you can find my website on the first place of the search results, but I can’t find it. I can only see my company name in the overview of company’s who have a ‘platenzaak'(translated record store). The snippet: Platenzaak | Gooisch Vinyl | Lp’s, Cd’s, Singles en meer, is nowhere to be found when I search on ‘platenzaak’.

When I’m logged in to Google, the first thing I see is the search performance of my website when I type in the keyword. It says it has 0 clicks and the average position is 37.9 in the last 28 days. When I look on the Rank Math Overview on my website dashboard it says it has 113 clicks and the average position is 34.06 in the last 30 days. So how can the average position according to rankmath and google be above 30, but you can see it on the first page of the search results? And I can’t find the URL and Snippet anywhere (tried different browsers and smartphone broswer). Does it have to do with my location, the algorithm or something else? Hope you can help me out.

    Have a nice day!

    Best regards,

    Simon

    Hello,

Thanks for getting back to us.

The actual position of your website for a given keyword relies on a bunch of different factors, such as device, countries and so much more.

In order to properly evaluate the position of that keyword on your website, you need to look at individual queries, break them down by country, etc.

The reason you might not be seeing your website for that keyword is that you might be looking for that in the NL version of Google and in there I can confirm that I do not see your website on the top positions.

Please note that ranking on Google depends on so much more than just your on-page optimization. You could have the perfect article and still struggle to break the top 10 in SERPs. Here are some of the factors Google considers when ranking you:

    1. Your website’s authority
    2. Your content’s quality and how better it is than the other article currently ranking.
    3. How competitive the keyword is.
    4. How many backlinks you have and if they are better than what the other guys ranking for that keyword have.
    5. Your website’s crawlability.
    6. Frequency of new content and content updates.
    7. So much more that there is a dedicated blog post on it by Brian Dean: https://backlinko.com/google-ranking-factors

We would recommend that you keep at it and work on acquiring more links to break into the top SERPs.

Hope this helps solve your issues.
