Hello,
Thank you for contacting Rank Math today.
Yes, it might affect your SEO but in a good way since Rank Math includes a lot of features like Schema.
You might see a few days a ranking drop since that is what Google does when seeing changes in your site but after a few days, your ranking should be restored or even improved.
Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.
Hello there,
I have moved my website from the Yoast SEO to Rankmath Successfully but I have one question. What should I do about the sitemap?
Do I have to put Rankmath sitemap URL into the search console? Or just use the previous one which coming from the Yoast SEO.
If I add new sitemap then do I have to remove the old sitemap? Please let me know! I’m not clear about this statement.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Regards
Riad
Hello Riad,
Thank you for getting in touch with us.
I’d recommend going through the following steps:
1. Head to your GSC and removing all submitted sitemaps.
2. If you do have any caching setup on your site, exclude all your sitemap URLs from being cached and clear your cache.
3. Resave your WordPress permalink settings and sitemap settings in Rank math.
4. Check if the sitemap working fine in your browser. You can check that by going domain(.)com/sitemap_index.xml. If the sitemap is working fine, you can try validating it on this link: https://www.xml-sitemaps.com/validate-xml-sitemap.html
5. If the validation works, please head back to your GSC and resubmit only the main index sitemap(sitemp_index.xml)
Hope that helps. If you have any further question(s), please let us know. Thank you.
