Setting the Alt Tag on images

    Good morning,

We would like to be able to mass update all images to the ALT tag matches the parent product name (where an image is associated with one and only one product).
Furthermore, we would like to ensure that any images newly applied to a product are updated.

Is there a way to achieve this via RankMath PRO?

We have already tried General Settings –> Images –> Add missing ALT Attributes.
But when we open a test image (associated with a product), the ALT tag is still empty. What makes Rank Math perform the update here?

    Kind regards,

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.

Could you please share the affected URL/s so we can check as well? Also, let us know which image you are referring to.

Meanwhile, please note that the Add missing ALT attributes and Add missing TITLE attributes options are not added to images added by your WordPress theme or page builder to various sections like your sliders, thumbnails, icons, etc. as they only apply to images added directly on your content, and added on the fly (page’s source code).

Also, that feature will not fill the ALT attributes of your images in your WordPress media gallery. Here’s a link for more information:

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you.
