My website’s sitemap URL is provided by Rank Math. I submitted the sitemap to Google Search Console, but Google Search Console is not submitting or indexing the page URLs.

    It shows this message:

    Sitemaps
    No referring sitemaps detected
    Referring page
    None detected
URL might be known from other sources that are currently not reported

As a result, my website pages are not getting indexed.

  • Hello,

I apologize for the issue you are facing with your website’s sitemap and indexing in Google Search Console. It sounds like there may be a few steps to ensure everything is set up correctly.

    1. Verify Sitemap Submission: Make sure that you have submitted the correct sitemap URL in Google Search Console. The URL should typically be https://yourdomainname/sitemap_index.xml. You can check this by navigating to the Sitemaps section in Google Search Console and ensuring that the sitemap is listed there.

    2. Check Sitemap Accessibility: Ensure that your sitemap is accessible by visiting the URL directly in your browser. If you can see the sitemap, it means it’s publicly accessible.

    3. Manual Indexing Request: After confirming that your sitemap is correctly submitted and accessible, you can manually request indexing for specific URLs. Go to the URL Inspection Tool in Google Search Console, enter the URL of a page you want indexed, and click on Request Indexing.

    4. Review Robots.txt: Check your robots.txt file to ensure that it is not blocking Google from crawling your site. You can find this file at `https://support.rankmath.com. Make sure there are no disallow rules that might prevent indexing.

    5. Check for Manual Actions: In Google Search Console, check if there are any manual actions against your site that might be affecting indexing. Look under the Manual Actions report.

    6. Wait for Indexing: Sometimes, it can take time for Google to process and index new sitemaps and URLs. If everything seems correct, give it some time and monitor the status.

If you continue to experience issues, we recommend replying to this ticket with your website URL so that a human agent from our support team can assist you further. Thank you for raising this concern!

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting us and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

Please note that a sitemap is only one of many ways Google discovers the URLs of your site. If Google discovers the URL through other means, it may not cross-reference your sitemap to check if the URL is there. Hence, the “No referring sitemaps” message.

However, you can check your Google Search Console Page Indexing report to determine any issues reported on your site: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/7440203?hl=en

You can share the error message or take a screenshot using this tool and add the link here so we can check as well.

    Looking forward to helping you.
