Set up and customize breadcrumbs using shortcode on WordPress / Astra site

    Dear Rank Math,

    I have build a website (https://sorenmeibom.com) using WordPress, Astra theme, and Elementor page builder. Temporary login is: [moved to sensitive data section]

    Can you please tell me where I can find instructions on how to place breadcrumbs on ALL my pages (excl. my home page) using short code so I have full control over placement?

    I’m looking for a solution where I don’t have to place and customize the breadcrumbs on every single page!

    I would also like to know how I can customize breadcrumb font size and color, separator character etc. when using short code?

    FYI, at the moment in my WP Dashboard under Rank Math — General Settings — Breadcrumbs I get the following message under the enable breadcrumbs toggle button:

    This option cannot be changed since your theme has added the support for Rank Math Breadcrumbs using:
    add_theme_support( ‘rank-math-breadcrumbs’ );

    Hello,

    Thank you for contacting Rank Math support, and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

    The shortcode is only ideal for adding the breadcrumbs to pages individually. You need the PHP code if you wish to apply the breadcrumbs sitewide.

    However, Astra already has integrated our breadcrumbs code as an option so you don’t need to add a code or shortcode.

    Please head over to your Theme page > Customizer > Breadcrumb and you should be able to apply our breadcrumbs there:

    As for styling the breadcrumbs, we currently don’t have any customization for its appearance as we only depend on the styling from your theme.

    Thank you Jeremy,

    I did try the approach you are suggesting, but I couldn’t get the breadcrumbs to appear in the header and there is a thin grey line under the breadbrumbs (see https://ibb.co/G5VpxHM).

    Do you know how I can avoid the thin greay line below the breadcrumbs?

    Do you know why I cannot get the breadcrumbs in the header with the Astra theme?

    You will need to modify the CSS of the page to remove the grey underline from the breadcrumbs. Please share the URL of the page so we can check the CSS.

    Do you know why I cannot get the breadcrumbs in the header with the Astra theme?

    You will need to add the breadcrumbs shortcode to the header, either using a PHP template or an Elementor dynamic template.
