Hello,
I apologize for the issue you are facing with the SERP title showing in Indonesian. This can indeed be perplexing, especially when your default site language is UK English.
There are a few potential reasons why Google might be displaying a different title in a different language:
-
Hreflang Tags: If there are any hreflang tags set incorrectly or missing, it could lead Google to serve the wrong language version of your content. Even if you don’t see them in the source code, it’s worth double-checking your Rank Math settings to ensure they are configured correctly for your target audience.
-
Content Language: Sometimes, if the content on the page includes phrases or words in another language, Google might interpret that as a signal to show a title in that language.
-
Google’s Algorithm: Google sometimes generates titles based on what it believes is more relevant to the search query, which can include using alternative languages if it thinks that will better serve the user.
-
Caching Issues: If there were recent changes to your site or its content, it might take some time for Google to re-index and reflect those changes accurately.
To troubleshoot this further:
- Check your Rank Math settings for any hreflang configurations.
- Ensure that your content does not inadvertently include Indonesian text.
- You may also want to check if there are any caching plugins that might be serving outdated content.
If you continue to experience issues, please reply to this ticket with any screenshots from the Ahrefs audit, and a human agent from our support team will assist you further. Thank you for bringing this concern to our attention!

I don’t know how to check my RankMath settings for hreflang.
Hello,
Thank you for contacting Rank Math support and bringing your inquiry to us.
Rank Math doesn’t manage the hreflang tag. Multilingual plugins add hreflang
to your pages, which tells Google and other search engines what language and region your page is targeting. This way, Google can find and index your translated URLs from the hreflang
tag, and show them to the relevant users.

So have you any idea why my audits are showing my SERP title in Indonesian? I have tried all the suggestions received so far, to no avail.
Hello,
Since the title is showing fine in the source code, Rank Math already adds the title correctly to your site.
If it’s only showing in the auditing tool you’re using, we recommend getting in touch with their support to clarify that.
It is also possible that they are reporting false-positive result for that URL.
Looking forward to helping you.
I’ve already been in touch with their support and they pointed the finger at RankMath! Hence my approaching you.
