Hello,
We apologize for the issue you’re facing with the low SEO score on your home page. It can be frustrating, especially after a long day of work.
Since your home page is also your shop page, it’s important to optimize it for both user experience and SEO. Here are some suggestions to improve your SEO score:
-
Use Product Schema: Since you are running WooCommerce, ensure that you are using the appropriate Product Schema. This can help search engines understand that your site is an e-commerce platform. You can set the Schema Type to WooCommerce Product by navigating to WordPress Dashboard → Rank Math SEO → Titles & Meta → Products and selecting the Schema Type as WooCommerce Product. After that, save the changes.

-
Add Featured Images: Make sure that your products have featured images set. Rank Math automatically includes these images in the Product Schema markup, which can help improve your SEO score.
-
Content Optimization: While it may seem unnecessary for an e-commerce site, having some content on your home page can help with SEO. Consider adding a brief introduction about your store, highlighting key products or categories, and including any promotions or unique selling points.
-
Keyword Usage: Even though you may not want to focus heavily on keywords, incorporating relevant keywords naturally into your content can help improve your SEO score. Think about what terms potential customers might use to find your products.
-
Check for Errors: Use tools like Google’s Rich Results Test tool to check if there are any errors in your Schema implementation. This can help identify any issues that might be affecting your SEO score.

If you have already set the Schema correctly and are still facing issues, please reply to this ticket with your site URL so we can assist you further. A human agent from our support team will take over and provide more tailored assistance.
Thank you for raising this concern, and we hope these suggestions help improve your SEO score!

Content Analysis Tests for Product Pages » Rank Math
Hello,
Since your homepage is also your shop page, then there’s very minimal content to be analyzed as the majority of it are listing of your products.
Please note that these tests are only there for your reference to help you in optimizing your pages/post content. If you feel any of them don’t apply to your page, please feel free to ignore them.
Scoring higher points in Rank Math’s tests won’t guarantee higher rankings.
Also, you shouldn’t use the Product schema on your archive/taxonomy pages as it is for the actual product page only.
Rank Math automatically adds the necessary schema to your homepage so you can stick with the Article schema type.
Looking forward to helping you.
Hello,
Thank you for explaining the scoring. In the past, I thought this effected ranking and was quite frustrated trying to figure out how to get the best score without compromising the simplicity of our website.
Is it possible to have a setting specific to e-commerce websites to help with scoring homepages and product pages so they don’t look like blog posts, but help sell the product with short clear and concise data?
What should we focus on to improve our actual ranking?
Thank you so much for your assistance.
Hello,
You’re very welcome. We completely understand the frustration, and we appreciate your feedback. While the SEO test/score is a helpful guideline, actual rankings depend on various factors like backlinks, user experience, and technical SEO.
For an e-commerce site, focus on:
- Optimizing product titles & descriptions with relevant keywords.
- Enhancing page speed for a better user experience.
- Building internal links to key product categories.
- Earning backlinks from reputable sources.
- Ensuring mobile-friendliness and structured data correctness.
If you want you can use a filter to disable tests that don’t apply to your site: https://rankmath.com/kb/disable-seo-content-tests/

Thank you.
