seo score drops suddenly

    Hi there at RankMath,

    Todays update of the free version makes it impossible to get a green seo score. Where I normally score 84-87 I know don’t get above 79. Has something changed in the Math?

    All greens accept for:

    Basic SEO:
    Content is 356 words long. Consider using at least 600 words

    Additional:
    – Add an image with your Focus Keyword as alt text.
    – Use Content AI to optimise the Post

    Title readability:
    Your SEO title doesn’t contain a number.

    Content readability:
    Use Table of Content to break-down your text.

    This is pretty normal for any of our 22.000+ posts we have. So can you tell me what has changed please?

    I now have to place two or three empty imageblocks in my post to get it to 81 score. Not a nice solution, I think.

    Please note that these tests are only there for your reference to help you in optimizing your pages/post content. If you feel any of them doesn’t apply to your page, please feel free to ignore them.

    In one of the recent updates, we added a new content analysis test to check if the content is optimized using Content AI or not. Here’s a guide regarding it: https://rankmath.com/kb/score-100-in-tests/#used-content-ai

    You can also have a look at our changelog for a quick reference: https://rankmath.com/changelog/free/

    These might be the reason for the drop in the SEO scores.

    You can open the post and fix the listed issues to further optimize the content and increase the SEO score in turn.

    Or, you can use this filter to disable the Content AI test on your site:

    You won’t need to modify/customize the code and the filter should be added to your active theme’s functions.php file. Here’s another way to apply the filter using the rankmath.php file:

    Thanks for the very quick reply and solution!! Works great with the filter in funtions.php of our child-theme. We know the score is just an indication, but we just love green 😉
