    Hello Support,

    I’m having difficulty with Rank Math SEO.

    In preparing a post for publication. Rank Math says I don’t have the Focus Keyword at the beginning. “Focus Keyword doesn’t appear at the beginning of your content.”

    But I have it in the first paragraph, second sentence.

    As a result, my SEO score is less than what it should be.

    I have the Focus Keyword in the piece six times not counting the title of the article, but only gotten credit for three occurrences. “Keyword Density is 0.37 which is low, the Focus Keyword and combination appears 3 times.”

    Why is this happening?

    I welcome you helping me fix these issues. Thanks.

    Can Rank Math help me with internal links, and is there an easy explanation for how to do it? Thanks.

    Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

    Could you share (in the Sensitive Data section) the affected URL and also the focus keyword you are using for?

    About the internal linking, the Internal linking suggestion tool will show the first 5 pillar post in that category. Moreover, you shouldn’t mark multiple posts as pillar posts as that beats the whole purpose of pillar posts. Every post in a category cannot be a pillar post.

    You have to mark any post that you want to build links to, as a Pillar Post in the SEO meta box:

    After that, when writing a new post, it will show your Pillar post from the same category you are using for the current post.

    This is used to build internal links to your most important content – it is not to be used any other way.

    Hello,
    Thanks for your response and for informing me as to how to go about getting internal links.

    Here’s the URL for the post in question: https://propheticwriter.org/pastor-john-macarthur-knowingly-displeased-god/.

    My Focus Keyword phrase is “Pastor John”.

    This is not a Rank Math issue, but if if you know the answer, I welcome knowing.

    All the images are fine, except the “?” image. In the draft mode it’s 800 X 450, but once published, it’s very small. What could be causing the change? Thanks for any ideas.

    Are you using any page builder on your site? If you are please let us know which one.

    If not, we might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.

    Hello,

    We removed the content and pasted it again.

    That seems to have fixed the issue.

    We also copy/pasted the content to our test install and all the tests ran fine.

    It looks like you have some redundant span tags in your content and that is why Rank Math cannot detect some of the content wrapped in these useless span tags:

    Please use the correct text format so Rank Math can read this content.

    How can I detect and remove “span tags”? Is there a plugin or must I do it manually? Thanks again for all your help.

    If you copy/pasted this content from a Word document, that is how it got added.

    You can use the erase icon to remove the formatting:
