Hello,
We apologize for the issue you are facing with the SEO Preview Snippet Editor. When you create a snippet specifically for Twitter, it should ideally be displayed when the article is shared on Twitter. However, if the snippet created for the "General" tab is being displayed instead, it could be due to a few reasons:
-
Settings Configuration: Ensure that you have properly configured the Twitter snippet settings. You can disable the option to use data from the Facebook tab if you want to customize the Twitter snippet separately.

-
Twitter Card Type: Make sure you have selected the correct Twitter card type in the settings. Different card types may behave differently in terms of how they display snippets.

-
Caching Issues: Sometimes, caching plugins or browser cache can cause old snippets to be displayed. Clearing your cache might help resolve this issue.
If you’ve checked these settings and are still experiencing issues, we recommend replying to this ticket so a human agent from the Rank Math Support team can assist you further.
Thank you for raising this concern! We hope to resolve it for you soon.
What you have suggested is all done, but the problem persisted. Still pulling from general snippet and not the Twitter one

I think it could be the change from Twitter to X. In the SEO snippets, I selected both Twitter & X and both displayed the General snippets instead of the one created for Twitter.
Did your end make the switch from Twitter to X? I think that is the issue.
Hello,
We are unable to replicate the issue you described.
Do you perhaps have a social sharing plugin on your site? If you do, that might be responsible for the conflict.

The facebook snippet is correct but the Twitter or X snippet which I created by following the same as the facebook snippet turn out wrong. It followed the General snippet instead
Hello,
Please make sure that you have unchecked the ‘Use Data from the Facebook Tab’ checkbox. Also, verify that the title/description you added on the Twitter tab is different from the Facebook tab.
If everything is correct and you’re still unable to get it to work, please share access to your website so we can investigate the issue for you.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation.
I’m actually selecting the option to have the facebook and Twitter (or X) snippet to be the same (which is different from the General snippet).
The issue is, instead of following the same snippet as the facebook one, it follow the General snippet instead.
Hello,
Our plugin is adding the correct details for Twitter meta tags. However, Twitter is ignoring them for the post you have shared. However, they are working fine for other posts:

Please clear your site & server’s cache and see if that resolves the issue.
Let us know how that goes. Looking forward to helping you.
