Hello,
I apologize for the issue you are facing with the slugs being rewritten in Elementor. This can sometimes happen due to conflicts with other plugins or settings within your WordPress environment.
Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot this issue:
-
Update Rank Math: Ensure that you are using the latest version of Rank Math. You can check this by navigating to your WordPress Dashboard → Rank Math SEO → Status & Tools → Version Control. If an update is available, please update the plugin.

-
Check for Plugin Conflicts: Deactivate other plugins temporarily to see if the issue persists. Sometimes, other plugins can interfere with Rank Math’s functionality.
-
Clear Cache: If you are using any caching plugins, clear the cache after making changes to ensure that you are seeing the most recent updates.
-
Permalink Settings: Go to Settings → Permalinks in your WordPress dashboard and simply click Save Changes without making any changes. This can sometimes refresh the permalink structure.
-
Elementor Settings: Check if there are any specific settings in Elementor that might be affecting how slugs are saved.
If these steps do not resolve the issue, we recommend replying to this ticket with your site URL and any additional details. A human agent from the Rank Math Support team will be able to assist you further and investigate the problem more thoroughly.
Thank you for raising this concern, and we look forward to helping you resolve it!
I already tried this, i beleive the issue is with rankmath.
Hoping for some conclusion on this.
Hello,
This usually happens when the Redirect Attachments option is enabled on your site, and you have a media or attachment URL with the same slug.
If that is the case, you can re-upload the media with a different file name or at least rename the attachment URL to a different slug to avoid getting the -2
or -3
in the last part of the URL.
If you’re referring to something else, please share the affected URL and edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.
Please do take a complete backup of your website before sharing the information with us.

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/
You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

We really look forward to helping you.
