Search phrase not showing in breadcrumbs

    Hello,

I recently had a similar topic about the search phrase not showing in the title, which was fixed, but since I marked that as solved I couldn’t seem to reply to it any longer with this info.

I also just noticed the search term doesn’t show up in the breadcrumbs – I simply get: “You searched for”

So based on the fix I applied to that other issue – in:

General Settings -> Breadcrumbs -> Search Results Format

I set that to “You searched for %search_query%”

But then when I refreshed the search results page I got a PHP error:

Warning: sprintf(): Too few arguments in ****************************\www\wp-content\plugins\seo-by-rank-math\includes\frontend\class-breadcrumbs.php on line 234

    Thanks!

  • Hi there,

    Thanks for getting in touch!

We recommend opening new tickets for new issues. I have just tested this out on my end using “You searched for %s” format and the search term was correctly displayed on the bread crumbs. Do you have some additional theme code that could modifying breadcrumbs on your site?

Please share some temporary admin access to your site on the sensitive data section and I will be happy to check this for you.

I am looking forward to helping you.

    Hi Michael,

I just tested with “You searched for %s” as you did and it worked 🙂

But perhaps your developers could look into that other issue where it produced a PHP error when using those other variables.

    Thanks again!

    Hi,

As far as I know, %search_query% is to be used inside meta titles/descriptions only.

I will still share your feedback with the dev. team and if this is indeed something we can implement in Breadcrumbs, we will do it.

    Thank you.
