Search Console doesn’t read sitemaps, I don’t understand why. Error code 404.

Hello,
Thank you for contacting us and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.
Can you please share your sitemap URL with us so we can check this further for you?
Meanwhile, you can try following the steps below to see if that works for you:
1. Flush the Sitemap cache by following this video screencast:
https://i.rankmath.com/pipRDp2. Exclude the Sitemap files of the Rank Math plugin in your caching plugin. The cache could be via a plugin or from the server. For plugins or Cloudflare, please follow this article:
https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/Once done, clear your website cache and resubmit the
/sitemap_index.xml
in the Search Console.Let us know how it goes. Looking forward to helping you.
Thank you.
Please edit the text on Wp Supercache. You wrote “Add here strings (not a filename) that force a page”. The word “forces” is plural, not singular as you spelled it.
With CMD+F I couldn’t find the exact sentence.
Also, the selection does not appear in the black fields. Making believe that we can not copy. Instead we can copy the code.
Hello,
Sure, we’ll pass that along to our writers so they can update the wording to match exactly.
Regarding the selection, that is possibly related to the browser you are using and the theme or custom CSS you are applying to the website. The selection is visible if you have a default browser.
Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.
The selection in the black fields is disabled.
I added the option to disable caching for the sitemap on Cloudflare. But I don’t understand how to add the suggested code.
https://postimg.cc/1n2MngjcHello,
Please follow the steps in this guide to exclude the sitemap files from your Cloudflare:
https://developers.cloudflare.com/support/page-rules/how-do-i-include-or-exclude-a-specific-url-from-cloudflares-page-rules/Once done, remove all your submitted sitemaps in your Google Search Console and resubmit your main sitemap only.
Hope that helps.
Thank you.
I’ve read the guide, but I can’t insert the code in the black rectangle of your guide on the Cloudflare website.
I did cache level bypass. I can’t do anything else or a step is missing.
If you are seeing a 404 error when trying to submit your sitemap in Google Search Console, it means that Google is not able to find the sitemap file at the URL you provided. This could be due to a few different reasons:
Incorrect URL: Double-check that the URL you provided for your sitemap is correct and matches the actual location of the sitemap file on your website.
Permissions issues: Make sure that the sitemap file has the proper permissions set and is accessible to Google. Check that the file permissions allow for crawling and that there are no restrictions in your website’s robots.txt file.
Incorrect formatting: Ensure that your sitemap is correctly formatted in XML and follows the guidelines specified by Google. You can use the Google Search Console Sitemap Report to check for errors in your sitemap.
Cached version: Check if your website is serving a cached version of your sitemap that has been updated since the last time Google crawled it.
Once you have resolved any issues with your sitemap, you can try resubmitting it to Google Search Console. If the problem persists, you can also try reaching out to Google’s support team for further assistance.
Hello,
I would suggest opening a ticket with Cloudflare on how to add the code as mentioned in the knowledgebase.
Also, please share the sitemap URL.Looking forward to helping you.
Thank you
The previous user didn’t answer my question. Likely spam.
A user on the Cloudflare forum suggests using Cache Rules. Because the Rules will soon be obsolete.
He also adds that you don’t need to apply the code in the black field of your guide.
Hello,
Yes, the previous reply is just spam.
Regarding the sitemaps, if the code isn’t needed to be added to your Cloudflare, then remove and submit your main sitemap only in your Google Search Console account.
If the issue still persists, please take a screenshot of your sitemap section in your Google Search Console and share it here so we can check and advise accordingly.
Looking forward to helping you.
Thank you.
