    Rank Math free

    Hello,

I have an e-commerce site, and I’m not sure which schema to use for my main pages, such as the homepage, customer reviews pages, or advice pages. Currently, these schemas are turned off, and I’m not sure if this is affecting my site’s SEO. Could you advise me on the appropriate schema to use and explain how to configure the settings? Thank you.

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing regarding schema configuration on your e-commerce site. For your main pages, here are some recommendations on the appropriate schemas to use:

    1. Homepage: You can use the WebSite schema to represent your homepage. This helps search engines understand that this is the main page of your site.

    2. Customer Reviews Pages: For pages that contain customer reviews, you should consider using the Review schema. This schema helps in displaying rich snippets in search results, which can enhance visibility and click-through rates.

    3. Advice Pages: Depending on the content of your advice pages, you might want to use the Article schema or a more specific schema like HowTo if the content provides step-by-step instructions.

    Configuring Schema Settings

To configure the schema settings in Rank Math:

    • Navigate to the post or page where you want to add the schema.
    • Click on the Rank Math SEO icon.
    • Then click on the Schema icon.
    • Use the Schema Generator to select and configure the appropriate schema for that page.

Click the Rank Math SEO icon
    Click the Schema icon
    Click Schema Generator

After selecting the schema, ensure to validate it using tools like Google Rich Results Test Tool to confirm that it is set up correctly.

If you need further assistance or have specific questions about other schemas, please reply to this ticket, and a human agent from our support team will be happy to help you further. Thank you for raising this concern!

    Hello,

The bot recommended that I configure my homepage with the WebSite schema and my review page with the Review schema, but I can’t find these options in the settings. What should I do?
    Thank you

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math support.

Our plugin automatically adds the default Schema types like Organization, WebSite, WebPage, etc., to the homepage. You don’t need to add any Schema type to the homepage. Please share the URLs of your review and advice pages, so we can check and suggest the Schema type.

    Looking forward to helping you.

Thank you for your response. However, I noticed that the schema for my homepage is turned off (which might be normal). I’m attaching the links to my site so you can suggest the appropriate schemas:

    Hello,

That’s correct, some of the default schema generated by our plugin are kept hidden on the backend since you can’t control them individually, hence you see the “OFF” schema label. It will only be occupied if you insert a custom or individual schema.

We checked your website and it seems to be focusing more on e-commerce and since Rank Math is already optimizing your product pages with the correct schema types, you can fall back to the Article Schema for your regular pages which can be suitable in this case.

Looking forward to helping you with this one.

Hello, thank you for your help. Should I set my homepage to the article schema, or should I leave the schema off ?

    Hello,

For your homepage, it’s usually best to keep the schema off unless you have specific content that fits a schema type, like an Article or Local Business. Since your homepage is more about showcasing your products, keeping it without a specific schema is fine.

Let us know if you need any more help.

    Good thank you
