Schema Markup Not Displaying Correctly on Streaming App Website

    Hi Rank Math Support,

I’m running a streaming app website and using Rank Math Pro for SEO. I’ve noticed an issue with my schema markup. Even though I’ve set up the schema types (Article, HowTo, and Video) inside Rank Math, Google’s Rich Results Test and Schema Validator show inconsistent results.

    For example:

The Video schema sometimes doesn’t detect properly, even though I have embedded videos with title, description, and thumbnail.

A HowTo schema I created for a troubleshooting guide isn’t being picked up at all. Instead, Google shows only an “hentry” schema, which I never set up manually.

Some articles are missing the publisher information, even though I’ve added it in the Rank Math settings.

I cleared cache, re-synced the sitemap, and even tested with different tools, but the problem persists. Could this be a conflict with my theme or caching plugin, or is there something specific I need to adjust in Rank Math settings to make the schema consistent for my streaming site?

    Looking forward to your guidance.

    Thanks,
    Ananya Bachan

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with the schema markup on your streaming app website. It sounds like you’ve already taken several important steps to troubleshoot the problem, which is great.

Here are a few suggestions to help you resolve the inconsistencies with your schema markup:

    1. Test Your Rich Snippets: Use Google’s Rich Results Testing Tool to check the specific pages where you’re experiencing issues. This tool can help identify if there are any errors in your schema markup.

    2. Check Schema Configuration: Ensure that you have correctly configured the schema types in Rank Math. For the Video schema, make sure that all required fields (like title, description, and thumbnail) are filled out properly. You can refer to our guide on configuring Video Schema for detailed instructions.

    3. Review Theme and Plugin Conflicts: Sometimes, themes or other plugins can interfere with how schema markup is rendered. Try switching to a default WordPress theme temporarily to see if the issue persists. Additionally, disable any caching plugins to rule out caching issues.

    4. Check Google Search Console: Use Google Search Console to see if there are any crawl errors or issues reported for your pages. This can provide insights into whether Google is having trouble accessing your content.

    5. Wait for Re-indexing: After making changes, it may take some time for Google to re-index your pages and reflect those changes in search results. Be patient as this process can sometimes take weeks.

If you continue to experience issues after trying these steps, we recommend replying to this ticket with specific URLs of the pages where you’re facing problems. A human agent from our support team will be able to assist you further and investigate the issue more thoroughly.

Thank you for raising this concern, and we look forward to helping you resolve it!
