Hello support team,
We have a multilingual website (French and English) and I couldn’t find anyway to change the description in the schema markup to English when the English pages are rendered. Is there a way to render a French description in French pages and an English description in English pages?
Thank you!

Hello,
We apologize for the issue you are facing with the schema markup on your multilingual website. To achieve different schema descriptions based on the language of the page, you can utilize the Rank Math plugin’s features for multilingual SEO.
Here’s a general approach to set this up:
- Use a Multilingual Plugin: Ensure you are using a multilingual plugin like TranslatePress or WPML that integrates well with Rank Math.
- Configure Schema Markup: In the Rank Math settings, you can specify different schema markups for each language. This typically involves going to the Schema Markup section for each post or page and entering the appropriate description in the respective language.
- Check Open Graph Tags: If you are using Open Graph tags, make sure to translate them as well. You can do this by going to the Meta Information section in Rank Math and setting the OG Title and Description for each language.
For detailed guidance on configuring schema markup, you can refer to our documentation here: Configuring Schema Markup in Rank Math.
If you need more advanced assistance or want to ensure everything is set up correctly, we recommend our professional setup service, which is available for PRO subscribers. You can find more information about this service at Rank Math Services.
Thank you for raising this concern! If you have any further questions or need additional help, please reply to this ticket, and a human agent will assist you further.

Hello,
Thank you for contacting Rank Math support, and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.
Since you’re using Polylang, the description field under Local SEO isn’t translatable by default due to Polylang’s limited integration with Rank Math.
To make it work, you can follow our Polylang compatibility guide here: https://rankmath.com/kb/polylang-compatibility/. This adds the necessary code to register Rank Math’s fields (including the SEO description) for translation in Polylang’s String Translation screen.
Once applied, you’ll be able to set the French and English descriptions separately.
Don’t hesitate to get in touch with us if you have any other questions.
Hi Jeremy,
Awesome, thank you so much. I’ll give that a try and let you know.
All the best,
Hi again,
Unfortunately, I don’t see organization_description in Polylang’s strings translation screen. I see a bunch of other RankMath fields, but not the description field under local SEO.
Does it take time to kick in?
Thanks for your help.
All the best,
Hi team,
I figured it out. I added ‘organization_description’, to:
`// Keys for rank-math-options-titles
$keys = [
‘website_name’,
‘knowledgegraph_name’,
‘homepage_title’,
‘author_archive_title’,
‘date_archive_title’,
‘search_title’,
‘404_title’,
‘pt_post_title’,
‘pt_post_description’,
‘pt_post_default_snippet_*’,
‘pt_page_title’,
‘pt_page_description’,
‘pt_page_default_snippet_*’,
‘pt_attachment_title’,
‘pt_attachment_description’,
‘pt_attachment_default_snippet_*’,
‘pt_product_title’,
‘pt_product_description’,
‘organization_description’,
‘pt_product_default_snippet_*’,Now, Polylang is picking up the the description. You may want to update your documentation to cover this area. (Excellent documentation btw)
Thank you and have a great day.
