Schema Markup confusion

    Rank Math free

    I have noticed that the services schema for the page shows as sitelink schema but it does not show up in search, I have done deep research on comparing it with other plugins and schema implementations, ifinally found a code in rank math blog that says paste the code /**
    * Filter to enable/disable SearchAction JSON-LD data
    */
    add_filter( ‘rank_math/json_ld/disable_search’, ‘__return_false’ ); IN FUNCTION.PHP and it will work.

    My question are,
    1. why the services schema on a page does not work as services and show up as sitelink schema?
    2. Why does even local SEO schema show in schema test tool as sitelink schema
    3. Even if it shows as sitelink then why it does not work ?
    Just feedback with apologies I have tried another plugin and their default schema shows amazingly but i don’t like that plugin

  • Hello,

    Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.

    The code you have shared is used to implement the Sitelinks (SearchAction) on all of your pages:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/sitelinks-searchbox-schema/

    1. Upon checking your homepage, there’s a local business schema being applied by one of your plugins/themes.

    To determine that, please follow this troubleshooting guide:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/check-plugin-conflicts/

    Here is a video you can follow as well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FcIWRhcUP2c

    Only the site admin would know and your users won’t be affected by this troubleshooting.

    2. Rank Math nests the Organization and Sitelinks schema to your pages. The nesting is done as per Google’s guidelines to provide all the related info to get rich snippets in the SERPs.

    You can verify that the Service schema contains all of the data from your Organization and Sitelinks by using this tool:
    https://validator.schema.org/

    3. Please note that Google Sitelinks aren’t something that you can enable, activate, or opt-in for. It is up to Google to enable them for a website that they think is authoritative for a given query. There is no specific setting or Schema to instruct Google to display links in Sitelinks.

    However, you can refer to our guide here to improve your Google Sitelinks:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/google-sitelinks/

    Hope that helps.

    Thank you.
