Schema issue on category pages

    Hello! Google Search Console is showing problems for a WooCommerce category page – it seems to be treating it like a product page and notes: “Either ‘offers’, ‘review’ or ‘aggregateRating’ should be specified”. The error shows under “Enhancements > Products”. I’m not sure if GSC means the error is on the category page, or rather on the products listed on the category page – the mentioned fields are optional. I’ve not been able to find any schema settings for category pages, or how to change the page type for GSC. How can I fix this? Thanks in advance for any tips.

    Hello,

    Thank you for contacting us and sorry for any inconvenience caused by that.

    Product Schema is not needed on Product Category archives and it is not recommended by Google either.

    Please check this URL: https://developers.google.com/search/docs/data-types/product

    It is possible that these errors are coming from the products within that category as well.

    Missing aggregate and review warnings do require that you include actual reviews on your product page.

    Having this in mind, we recommend and offer an option to disable Product Snippet Data from Product Category archives. You can do that from WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > Titles & Meta > Product Categories. Here is a screenshot for reference:

    If the issue here does not get fixed then you should know that these warnings are from the products in that category.
