Schema is off?

#184693
  • Hello Rank Math,

After I update the plugin to the latest version of (1.0.62). I can see that Schema is turned off? By default, the schema type selected was Software Application.

However, if I change the Schema type to Article, to every post under SEO details I can see it is displaying well, but leaving the article, whatever the other schemas are selected it is displaying as Schema is Off?

Here is a link to the Screenshot –

    Before update – https://prnt.sc/11otmem
    After update – https://prnt.sc/11ottig

Please do help me in fixing these issues?

    Thank You.

    Hello,

Thanks for contacting us and we regret the inconvenience caused.

If you’ve set the Software Application schema as the default schema, then many of the schemas including Software Application are neither displayed on the all Posts page nor added in the frontend as it does not have any data.

The Software Application schema needs to be configured prior to adding it and there are many fields that can be different based upon the software like Operating System, Application Category, etc.

I suggest you keep the Article schema as the default schema and since you have to configure the Software Application schema before adding it, you can add the Software Application schema from the Post Editor window.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks.

    Hello,

Thank You for your reply, as your guide, I’ve already configured every post, with the support of the default theme block, that helps to add Software Application information like version, Rating, Votes, Operating System, etc. Where that information is automatically configured or updated with the default schema builder with the previous Rank Math update.

The reason why I selected by default the posts to Software Application in Schema, is that because each & every post whatever I add will be only related to the software application.

And also adding manually by going in post editor I just get confused where to add under review star ratings(1 to 5) & the number of votes (1 to 999999999). The other info such as operating system, Application Category is very much easy to be added.

However could you please tell me why in the latest version of the Rank Math update by default when I selected the schema as Software Application the Schema displays as turned off?

And also please let me know in Rank Math Pro specifically if there any advanced options for Software Application Schema? To rank & display well the review snippet in Google.

    Thank You.

    Hello,

    Thanks for your reply.

I just get confused where to add under review star ratings(1 to 5) & the number of votes (1 to 999999999).

There are 3 fileds related to reviews in the Software schema.

    1. Rating: Here the total ratings that the users have given the software should be entered. https://i.rankmath.com/b1frB1
    2. Rating Minimum: The least rating you received for the software (ex. 1 on a scale of 1 to 5)
    3. Rating Maximum: The highest rating that you received for the software (ex. 5 on a scale of 1 to 5)

We have a really easy to follow tutorial guide regarding the Software schema: https://rankmath.com/kb/software-schema/

I selected the schema as Software Application the Schema displays as turned off?

The Software schema needs to be configured and saved by editing the post, to display the schema on the All Posts view and on the frontend. Also, the JS scripts run only when the post is published/updated.

Since the Article schema doesn’t need to be configured much, it is displayed simply when you set it as the default schema.

in Rank Math Pro specifically if there any advanced options for Software Application Schema? To rank & display well the review snippet in Google.

The fields in the Software schema of Rank Math PRO are the same as in the Free version of the plugin.

However, Rank Math PRO gives you the power to create custom schema as per your needs, so you are not limited to the pre-defined fields.

Also, you can import all the schemas of any website, simply by entering the URL of the website in the schema import tool.

Please refer to these tutorial guides for more details:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/schema-generator/
    https://rankmath.com/kb/import-schema-from-url/

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks.

    Hello,

    Thank you for the reply.

Well, Can you please show me how do I fill some of the data (especially votes) inside the post in the Schema builder of Software Application?

Am getting a warning in the Google Rich Results Test even after I use properly the Software Application Schema inside the Rank Math – Missing field ‘aggregateRating’ (optional)

Here is the link to the screenshot – https://prnt.sc/11sylmi

    Thank You!

    Hello,

Thank you for the follow-up, and sorry for the delay.

Could you please confirm if the affected URL is the one shown in the screenshot you have sent? If so, I’ve tried checking that page using Google’s Rich Results test, and it seems that your schema is already showing fine without the aggregate rating warning.

I hope that helps. Thank you, and looking forward to your update.

    Hi,

It is not the URL shown in the screenshot. Here is the affected URL link.

However, I would like to inform you this, there are already more existing posts available, So just like we can’t go to every single individual post and can’t edit & select the schema generator to Software Application.

Previously the last update was offering that feature to select all the posts to the Software Application by default which was working fine. And now the latest update of Rank Math has just removed that feature where displays Schema as ‘off’.

    Please do fix this.

    Thank You.

    Hello,

Thanks for getting back to us.

I tested the page with Google’s Rich results testing tool, and I was able to replicate the warning.

Upon inspecting your page’s source, I found that you have a duplicate Software Applications schema. Also, some other meta tags are duplicated. Please see this screenshot for a quick reference: https://i.rankmath.com/RbtuxQ

It seems like the Blog2Social plugin might be inserting the duplicate meta tags and the schema. Duplicate meta tags and the schema data might confuse the search engines, which eventually might affect the ranking of your page.

Please disable the SEO features of the Blog2Social plugin and see if the duplicate meta tags and schema are removed from the page’s source. If not, then you can follow this troubleshooting guide to determine which plugin or theme is causing this issue: https://rankmath.com/kb/check-plugin-conflicts/

Regarding the AggregateRating warning, could you please confirm whether you’ve filled the Rating field in the Software Application schema? If not, then please fill it and see if the issue is fixed. https://i.rankmath.com/6xucCL

Previously the last update was offering that feature to select all the posts to the Software Application by default which was working fine.

The schema which was displayed in the previous version of Rank Math was actually a blank schema. If you would open the schema builder for the default Software Application schema, then you’ll see only the name of the schema with all the fields missing.

As mentioned in my previous reply, since most of the schemas need to be configured by editing the post, and many of the fields for the Software Application schema can be different based upon the software, we recommend setting only Article schema as the default one.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks.

    Hello,

I’ve completely removed the Blog2social plugin, as you said it is causing errors of duplicate meta tags.

Even after I removed the Blog2social plugin then also I can see the same duplicate errors in rich results – to this link

About the aggregate rating, the fields whatever are given by Rank Math I have filled it completely, but however, there is no given field for rating count, instead, I can see other fields given like to mention start ratings out of 5.

Finally, Rank Math has to improve the Software Application Schema feature?

    Thank You!

    Hello,

I have just checked your site and it seems that there is a duplicate schema caused by your theme or external third-party plugin.

If you have deactivated the suspected culprit plugin causing this and it still appears, it would appear to be another plugin or theme.

You may want us to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.

If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/

The plugin’s software schema does have the rating value field where the users can choose from a scale. The default scale for numbers is a 5-point scale, where 1 is the lowest value and 5 is the highest value.

If you wish you can add the rating count field using the advanced editor so that it can display the count of the total number of ratings. Or create a custom template that has this field.

Hope that is helpful. Let us know if you have additional questions.

    Hello Brian,

Here is the new post created today – click this link

And also here is the temporary [Moved to Sensitive Data] to access the dashboard

    Thank You!

    Hello,

    Thanks for getting back.

The login link that you have shared isn’t working. Instead of logging into the Dashboard, it takes to the login page. Please share the login credentials in the sensitive data section or fix the temporary login link so we can check and assist you further.

We really look forward to helping you.

    Hello,

The login link is working now please do check in sensitive data?

    Thank You,

    Hello,

    Thanks for getting back.

I checked and figured out that the duplicate schema was being added by your theme. If you switch to any other theme then the duplicate schema disappears.

I wasn’t able to find an option in your theme’s settings to remove the schema. Please contact the theme developer to get the schema being applied by your theme removed.

For the aggregateRatings warning, I was able to replicate it on my end and have informed the devs about the issue. They are looking into it and will fix it soon. We will inform you once the issue is resolved.

We really appreciate your patience in the meantime. Let us know if you need any further assistance.

    Hello Jaideep,

As you said, I’ve contacted my theme developer and they said me to remove some particular code to prevent the duplicate software schema.

And finally, now I can see that the duplicate software Shema is not found after making a rich results test.

But however, still, I can find ‘1 warning’ which is usually found by Rank Math plugin for the ‘Aggregate Missing Field’.

Here are the Rich Results Test Link.

Please do fix these issues caused by Rank Math as soon as possible specifically for Software Schema?

Once if I’ve been notified that these issues have been fixed, I will be happy to purchase the Rank Math Pro, which I’ve just got disappointed just because of these software schema errors and made me stop upgrading to a paid version.

Hope these will be fixed very soon, & even I didn’t see any newly added features about schema errors fixed in the recent Rank Math 2.6.0 update.

    Thank You.

    Hello,

Thank you for the update and for considering purchasing Rank Math PRO for your website.

Our dev team is already checking this issue and will get back to you once a fix is already available.

Meanwhile, please don’t hesitate to contact us anytime to assist you further with anything else.

We would really appreciate your kind patience regarding this matter.

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you.
