Hello,
We apologize for the issue you are facing with the Schema in use on your page. Thank you for raising your concerns. Let’s address your questions one by one:
-
What does schema in use mean?
The "Schema in use" indicates the primary schema type that is currently applied to your page. In your case, it is showing as the Article schema, which means this is the default schema that will be recognized by search engines for this page.
-
If I have more than one schema, how can I ensure all the schemas are used?
You can add multiple schemas to a page using Schema Templates in Rank Math PRO. To ensure all schemas are utilized, you can create and assign additional schemas through the Schema tab in the Rank Math Meta Box. However, keep in mind that some search engines may prioritize one schema type over another, so it’s essential to choose the most relevant one as the primary schema.
-
I tried the rich snippets test, and it shows all the schemas on the page (I am confused here).
The Rich Snippets Test tool will display all the schemas present on your page, including both the primary and any additional schemas you have added. This is why you see all of them listed there. It’s a good way to verify that your schemas are correctly implemented.
-
If the article schema is the default one and it is chosen as we built the page, what about the other schemas we built?
The Article schema serves as the default schema for your content, but you can still add other schemas to enhance your page’s SEO. These additional schemas can provide more context and information about your content, which can be beneficial for search engines. Just ensure that they are relevant to the content of your page.

Hello,
Thank you so much for getting in touch.
Multiple schema feature is only available in the PRO version of our plugin and it seems that the Rank Math account you’re using is on Free plan.
Can you please search and forward a receipt from FastSpring.com so we can locate your PRO account and verify it first?
Back to your concern, when you see schema in use
, it simply means that the schema type has already been added to your page. You can definitely add multiple schemas, and as long as they’re relevant, search engines can recognize and use them. If the Rich Results Test is showing all your schemas, it means they’re implemented correctly.
The Article schema is set as the primary by default. The primary schema includes the mainEntityOfPage
property and is considered the main focus or most representative schema for the content. That said, the other schemas you’ve added are still active and valid and they’ll be used by search engines if they match the content.
