Robots.txt Uneditable

    I am trying to block Google from indexing the images on this site, by adding the following to the robots.txt file:

    User-agent: Googlebot-Image
    Disallow: /

    I have searched the server via filemanager in C-Panel and can not find a Robots.txt file. I think that Rank Math SEO is creating one on the fly, is that correct?

    I found a section in RMSEO admin but it says the robots.txt file is uneditable and therefore I can not add the required code.

    What am I missing here please?

    Hi Steve,

    Rank Math uses a virtual robots.txt much like other SEO plugin.

    To edit the content, head over to WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > General Settings > Edit robots.txt and add this in the content area:

    User-agent: *
Disallow: /wp-admin/
Allow: /wp-admin/admin-ajax.php

User-agent: Googlebot-Image
Disallow: /

Sitemap: https://www.DOMAIN-NAME.com.au/sitemap_index.xml

    Don’t forget to change the domain name to the actual one.
